The irony of Gen being annoyed that Kayley was pointed chief stew and now Kayley is acting chief stew for two charters running because her telling the crew about Luke (c***) on Nathan’s sheets leads to a domino effect of events resulting in Aisha having to go on deck duties 
thus Kayley having even more responsibility and the opportunity to prove she can be chief stew

My chronically offline husband (who loves Below Deck too) has sent me the Nathan article which indicates to me it’s pretty mainstream !
What a vile little man . I hope he gets his comeuppance . I want to see him fail on this season even more now . I hope Max goes to Sandy about the lead deckhand text - no way she’d approve of shady dealings like that and taking it off Joe especially when he’s done a great job as bosun

Never been a fan of Joe, but I hope he steps up with Nathan out and proves that he is worthy of being a bosun. His attitude towards women is questionable, but you can't take away how good he is at his job.

Gen is showing her age with her reaction of not being chief stew. It must be frustrating when you feel you've been demoted, but Aesha was spot on when it's not just about experience, it's your attitude to your guests and peers too. Just suck it up and be a team player! I think Kayley is doing great, especially if the only thing Gen can moan about is the wrong plate for some caviar

Gen is just horrid, I think she's on my list of worst crew ever with the likes of Kizzi and Ellie 
. Love Joy, she just loves her job, no dramas and stand offs with Aesha which is enjoyable to watch. Kayley isn't terrible, but she's far too sickly sweet with Joe, he's being a man child about the situation and doesn't need comforting.

Much as I dislike Nathan now, Joe is behaving like a child. You always knew you were acting bosun and would have to step down once Nathan came back, grow up and stop flouncing around.
I don’t doubt for a second that he did it. Video evidence is neither here nor there if he reckons it ‘proves’ he didn’t , you can stop filming any time and immediately attack her, but I don’t think that’s what he is saying anyway, I agree that he’s saying he was ‘provoked’ which is pathetic. Violently attacking your partner, particularly with the strength and size disparity, is inexcusable, I literally do not care what she did, or what he says she did. Fucking prick.
eta also it’s such a classic abusive bastard move to use their partner’s past against them. I was repeatedly beaten badly by an ex in the past but have no ‘proof’, no evidence etc, and the ex roundly denies it to this day, so you could argue I’d ‘made it up’ but only a scum bag would use that sort of past against you, to cast doubt on you… wait…

He’s not denying it - that’s very important. If you hadn’t done this, and had video footage showing you didn’t, you’d be shouting it from the rooftops (and it wouldn’t be going to court). I think the video may show an element of provocation from Gael, the “context” he is talking about. Then he tries to justify/minimise it by saying she’s done this before.
Either way - if he’s done this, it’s absolutely abhorrent and no “context” or behaviour in past relationships makes it ok.
