I mean, being a smoker and getting cancer isn't really a comparable situation, the smoking may not have even been the cause, and I would always sympathise with someone who had a life-threatening illness.
I'd have sympathy for Gael if she was a new mom who'd had to leave family behind to travel with a partner in the military to some far away place; there's less of a choice, but this is reality TV. Seems like they both lost perspective here.
I'm not criticising you for being sympathetic, it's great that you are, but for me, there's too much selfish choice in this situation for my empathy.
Fair enough . I just get the impression she was railroaded into this decision . And I hate Nathan , I think he should be ashamed if he suggested to her that this was a good idea and played any part in convincing her to come with him (which I’m sure he did). The honourable thing from him would have been to turn down this season and spend time with his partner and newborn . But honourable and Nathan don’t really seem to mix !

I agree with the Nathan sentiments 💯!

You really underestimate how much life shifts after having your first baby. They probably both naively thought that they've been yachties for so long they could adapt and throw a newborn in the mix. It was never going to end well, and in the trenches of postpartum the last place you want to be is away from your family and friends in a foreign Country.
