I’ve only watched the latest season of down under and just watching last year’s med. What’s the deal with everyone getting off with each other, like it’s a dating show? Confessing their feelings for each other after like 3 days. It’s wild and cringe

As much as I think Joe is a total ick, my heart broke for in this episode.
I can't imagine getting bad news and being so far away.
Fair play to Nathan for checking on him, and to Sandy for immediately stepping up to the plate and offering all the help she has access to.
Also, well done to Joe, his family, Dr Pam and production for sharing the story and including information which can only help with education.

Sandy handled that absolutely brilliantly. Sometimes, when something so awful happens, you just need another person to step in and lend you their strength. Even if Joe's mum doesn't end up working with the doctor, you could see the call with her lifted a huge amount of weight off his shoulders. I hope his mum is doing okay.

Gen is doing too much. Kayley is just working hard and being good at her job.

Coop is cute but it‘s a bit weird to put someone so green on the first anchor watch.

I cba with all the baby stuff though. I literally don’t care that Nathan and Gael had a baby.

I already don’t like Gen . Kaylee and Kat seem really sweet though . That picnic table scape was so good !! And the cake !!

Agree, he was terrible. And when he was saying, I have this and I have that i am worth x million and "i am reasonably good looking" ( eh no you aren't)
Then boasted how much he was paying his gf à month.

Such a gross man

Edit to add, still not a Gen fan, she is a bit of a pick me

I really like Joy, and I really like the two stews who are not Gen. And both tall Yanks. Good show so far. Awful jerk of a guest!

I hope we aren’t having an entire season of Gael & the baby being extra castmates.

Nathan should have been back on the boat long before the other boys started working. I don’t like Joe but he seems to be working harder than Nathan and probably should be bosun.

Nathan told that dude several times to go inside so not sure what his problem is other than he’s an angry, angry man. He’s not a good looking guy and it‘s no wonder he’s had to pay for a girlfriend.

Joy’s accent is so sexy! I want her to read me bedtime stories.

The guest is one of those people who thinks that being rich allows him to treat anyone 'below him' like shit.
I agree re: Joy. "The guy who fired his girlfriend" was a very apt description, even if unintentionally. Still holding out hope for a Joy crashout (on someone deserving, with her delightful accent and way with words). Maybe this Josef dude will walk into the galley or criticise her cooking and she will castrate him.

I really don’t like Nathan. He’s a shit bosun.

He’s hot-headed (remember how he used to lose his rag with Max all the time last season?)
He’s petty
Poor leader - does not lead by example or encourage his team
Seems to just shout at people instead of teaching/leading them
Holds grudges
Let’s personal shit get in the way of his work all the time

And no-one gives a shit about his relationship with “perfect” Gael and the baby
