I deemed her 'not very bright' when she went to that rag.Honestly, I'm not being nasty, but I think she's just not very bright and she thought the BBC could stop him sending her son money, because she doesn't know how these things work? We can speculate on her motives in going to the BBC then the press, but I think the most straightforward explanation is just that she's not bright and she thought the BBC could stop HE, so when they didn't, she felt like she'd been wronged.
If this whole story is true, I definitely feel sorry for her. Loving an addict is horrible. I'm just saying that I think her actions seem odd because she misunderstood what her actions would cause to happen.

Definitely possible - not many teens have a tv, let alone watch the news.i imagine something like this happens-
the young person was getting money for his contact with the presenter, without a scooby doo who he was. The mother comes along - and recognizes him sitting on his sofa in his pants and tells her child who it is. Her child then realizes that they can get a lot more money out of this situation this then means they can afford more crack and their addiction spirals- the mother now doesn’t know what to do- she tells the presenter to stop but he can’t because he’s being blackmailed by her child who would probably have a wealth of messages etc that the presenter doesn’t want made public.
She knows this is what is happening, and is angry at the presenter for putting his career before her child’s drug habit, she chooses to go to their employer first, this does nothing so she goes to the papers as she can’t go to the police because her child is blackmailing the presenter.

Wouldn’t be the first parent to use their child for personal gain. That they went to The Sun is a major red flag for me. If their story was genuine, I’d be going to the police. As it currently stands I find their story very dubious. There’s too many big questions with the version presented in The Sun.Why what had she got to gain from doing what she did? The lad in question could well be back-peddling, perhaps because the lawyer has told him he could also be in trouble especially if he’s been blackmailing the presenter.
