I have a few, ranging from quite serious to pretty funny. We have a strange relationship; love each other but aren’t that close. If I have an issue, I don’t go running to her. I’m closer to my grandmother. My mum and I are total opposites and we clash over stuff. The worst thing she ever done to me is large-shamed me growing up. It has caused me to have a lot of issues with my weight. She doesn’t mince her words, put it that way. We’ve had it out though, so she knows how it affected me and she has tried to make amends since. And she is a good grandmother who dotes on my kids and would help me if I ever did ask.
She also has a bit of a twisted sense of humour and liked play pranks on us and scare us as little kids. One time when we were quite young, she pretended she found a shoebox in one of the cupboards (we lived in a horrible old tenement block at the time) and told us a creepy story about an old woman who used to live in the house before us and about how she had been killed but they never found her body. Then she had us open the shoebox and there was her finger covered in tomato sauce poking up from the bottom of it. My brother and I cried so much.

Honestly it’s a wonder we don’t dislike her.
