Hi Autumn peops. I’m going through a really rough time. My child has been diagnosed with a life-threatening illness and my husband might have it too (genetic). Plus work is awful and my boss has been vile. I’m signed off sick at the moment. Going to try and find the energy today to cheer myself up and put out my wreath and autumnal decorations.

I am so ready for autumnal weather and walks 🙏
And being able to read a book with my legs under my duvet. I've been sleeping ontop of the duvet for months due to the heat.

Give me that crisp cold air any day.

I woke during the night, I think it was Wednesday and heard the sound of rain. I smiled to myself and contentedly pulled the duvet up over my shoulders and drifted back to sleep happy. ☺

Perfect Autumn weather this morning on an early morning dog walk, it poured it down overnight (left my washing out oops) but then was lovely and clear in the morning.

I’ve been making loads of homemade soup with my soup maker, roasted pepper and tomato first then a parsnip, carrot and potato one. I think I realised I’ve reached official adulthood when I got excited that I could use the leftover chicken from our roast yesterday for soup today 😂😂

I’ve got my maple mornings wax melt burning and just about to clean our bathroom (not fun) before I take the dogs out to the park for a run around and I’m going to get a Pumpkin Spice Latte on the way.

Me and Mr Cinnamon Swirl are watching Stranger Things from the beginning as he has never seen it so we turn the light off in the evening and it’s all cosy with just the fairy lights on

Happy ‘ber months Eve everyone 🍁🍂🎃

I’ve got the slow cooker out for the first time this year!! 🙊🙊 I’m making a slow cooker chicken roast dinner tonight with apple crumble and custard for after 😋 got some lovely red wine to go with it too, yes on a Tuesday but why not 😂

I’m going to read my book for a while before I go to the gym and start dinner, going to make the most of the two weeks I have off before going back to work.

Can’t wait for it to get dark and put all my fairy lights and candles on and cuddle up with a cosy dinner, my hubby and our dog 🥰 Love this time of year.

Hope everyone going through a tough time is taking care of themselves too ❤

Things I’m looking forward to in autumn:

- crisp walks on the common and hearing the leaves underfoot
- making chicken and bacon pie for dinner
- colouring while watching beauty demonstrations on QVC
- baking
- fairy lights
- being able to wear jeans and jumpers etc rather than sweating in summer clothes

Hello all! We loved our time with our neighbours’ dog on Saturday! We went for a crunchy walk through some leaves on the common and then got her a pup cup at Starbucks. I think she enjoyed it! We have also had lots of autumny food lately including homemade chicken and bacon pie and a full roast dinner which was yummy. Plus, my friend got me a teapot for my birthday last month and I’ve been enjoying pots of chamomile tea while working!

Autumnal candles are my favourite, got these 2 from tk maxx after about 20 minutes sniffing them all 😄 plus in love with my new primark cushion, don’t care we’re only just into August!

Trying to recover from heat exhaustion here and it’s been awful. I can’t wait for crisp fresh air, baking sweet treats and lighting candles! Summer can fuck off.

October is proper autumn, September is more about the anticipation. I actually feel like September is it's own micro season, there isn't another time like ir .

We’re buying our first house, moving in this afternoon and trying to take my mind off the wait for completion haha, so felt right to come in and talk about my CANDLES.

I’ve got a huge WoodWick Pumpkin Praline candle ready to go straight on the coffee table as soon as it’s in. It smells gorgeous and I love the way the WWs crackle!

Summer is (thankfully) almost over so a lot of the things I’ve picked up have been autumn themed. This year is going to be so cosy. 🥹

OH ALSO, I didn’t know this until recently, but you know those Lemax Christmas village buildings? They do autumn ones now. I’m getting the Pumpkin Spice Coffee Shop to go in my living room! 🍂

I’m so ready for it this year, and for once all the usual “we haven’t even had a summer” moaners don’t have a leg to stand on!!! 😂

I'm funny with autumnal scents. I do not like anything cinammon or pumpkin. I prefer woodsy and sandalwood type scents and with winter I like my house to smell like trees and cranberries.

I was watching a video of someone who visited Leed castle recently during the Christmas period, and it was all moody and dark, with pretty lights everywhere and all festive charms. It then occurred to me - we're finally going into the cooler and what I consider the most magical time of the year. There's Halloween, Bonfire Night, fireworks, long evenings, and, of course, Christmas. I dunno, the thoughts of it make me feel all cosy and happy - especially after a summer of raving heat. The 'ber' months will feel like a welcome relief.
I can make Beef Stew, soup, hot chocolate and roast dinner again without feeling like I'm melting in the kitchen.
Anyone else getting this vibe and is with me on this?
