Bringing up this old chat, catching up on the thread. I spoke to him once and he was so charming! Very handsome. But yeah, like with all entertainers, would be hard to be in a relationship with.
His ex-partner, Amy Williamson, passed away. I believe it was reported by the Daily Mail today, but it happened back in March. Very sad.

We went again about 12 months later and he was a different person. He seemed so much happier and light.
I didn't know they had gotten back together until she was brought up here. We assumed he'd grieved the relationship and moved on but they had probably reconciled back then.
Knowing they stayed in such a complicated relationship since then at the earliest, makes me a bit sad for both of them. Especially now she has died.
I posted this last time we chatted about him. I went and saw his stand-up show, maybe 2008, and not long before that he'd spoken publicly about experiencing depression since breaking up with his GF, and he'd sought help for it. During the show he referenced the breakup and Amy her by name SO MANY times. My friend I went with was named Amy so we really noticed his name dropping. The show was funny but we both also felt a bit sad at the end because it was very obvious he was still very sad about their relationship.

She died in March, it just wasn’t reported about until last week.
