I remember so many women trying to give that Courtney chick the heads up about that dickhead rugby loser. Even the other ex Courtney. I remember the IG post where they were being smashed with negative comments.
She didn't listen, she thought he was different for her. Can't say I'm sympathetic. All these women believe men with terrible histories will change for them, they get love bombed and spit our kids after a short time with these wankers. If a guy had kids to all different mums there is something very wrong.
I say this kindly and yet not lightly. As someone who has had a friend involved in domestic violence, the thing that isn’t spoken about enough is the psychological impact and mental anguish of trying to detach. If you read Katie Byron’s “the work” it speaks about DV and abuse victims often being generational, that victims lack a shark cage to protect them by way of their formative life experiences. The thing that has been most striking to me through my friends relationship is that we all knew. She told us about the violence. She was done. About, 12 different times, she was done. We supported her to leave. And yet she went back over and over, she wanted to fix him, he would be different, it was just this or just that. What if the next woman, he loved properly and treated right? What if she missed out on the visions she held onto of their future. And through this process of voicing the issue but then returning to it, every one of us friends got sick and tired of enabling her and supporting her. It was emotionally taxing for us all. Instagram wellness accounts tell us to have boundaries and protect our peace. We waned in being able to continue to carry the burden when she kept going back and back and would not listen..

THIS is one of the challenges that perhaps doesn’t get voiced enough. THIS type of isolation is, amongst others, how women end up dead. Because when it got to the 13th time and she truly was finally ready to go and stay gone, she had no one left in her corner because of her own toxic behaviour (which is psychological in its nature and rooted in many things, not just the specific person or the relationship.) it’s not dissimilar to a drug addict trying to get clean. It takes time and effort and support and it’s draining on loved ones to the enth degree. DV and toxic relationships can be so insidious. Power and love to anyone going through it.

anyway that concludes my TED talk.

Victoria Devine apparently shamed by a stranger for breastfeeding her baby in a cafe…yawn…influencer bingo. Years of breastfeeding my kids in public and I never got anything negative. Funny how every influencer manages to have a stranger tell them off!

This woman just looks like a nut job. The boy that the crazy bitch made into a girl is look very tween boy here. Wonder what she will do going forward.
God forbid a parent is attuned to what their child is telling them. Get this transphobic shit out of here please.

Kayla and Darius are problematic in so many ways.

But let's not shame women for having a legal termination. She made a decision that was right for her at that time and it should be left at that.

You’ve got to be fucking kidding me. I’m going to start boycotting these publishers that put out the drivel of these talentless influencers, fuck me dead 🙃 anyone can get a book deal with the right follower count 💸 like what kind of insightful gems must Snez have to share with the world? 🤦🏼‍♀️ the world would be a better place without books by Sophie chia, Amy gerrard and snez wood

Did anyone see the story the other day where themidwifemama left the kids with her partner, so she could run some errands/ have some alone time? While she was gone the partner decided to take the dog for a walk and left the 7 year old daughter in charge of the newborn. o_O Amelia was laughing in the story because the 7 year old had changed a dirty nappy all by herself and put the new one on backwards. I'm not a longtime follower so i dont know the dynamics of that relationship or household... but he seems like the most selfish and incapable parent around. The definition of weaponised incompetence. She's constantly posting about feeling burnt out and overwhelmed... and he cant even care for a newborn for an hour by himself

Not influencers, but I’ve always gotten privileged, snobby vibes from Peter Stefanovic and Sylvia Jeffreys. The interview he conducted with Keegan Payne confirmed all of that and more in 30 seconds. What a fucking prick.

This chicks baby is not even 4 months old. She will self settle eventually but mums obviously comparing baby to unicorn babies (or asking for freebies)

Your baby is not broken. She just needs your assistance and love ❤
I work in infant mental health/child health/child development space and you can’t teach babies to self settle period. They’re either unicorns, or they’ll get it eventually…. They might be 1 they might be 7.
independence comes from secure attachment and it highly dependent on temperament. Only thing a sleep-consultant/money-hungry-cowboy-from-unregulated-industry-profiting-from-vulnerable-new-parents is going to teach them is to shut up and go to sleep because nobody is coming to help you now.
anyway, as you all were ✌

Thank you. My sister experienced domestic violence and it's such a complex thing. It is like a dagger to the heart when people say it's the woman's fault for continuing to go back.. If it was that straight forward then we probably wouldn't have this many women being killed by their partners/lovers/ex partners/stalkers.

I think the correlation between influencers and Taylor Swift obsession is that influencers are self centred enough to find personal meaning in her lyrics. Taylor Swift lyrics are like horoscopes in a daily newspaper - vague enough to have anyone think it could apply to them. Influencers of course will find meaning in her lyrics that “omg this is soooo like my breakup” because their life’s entire purpose is centring themselves in everything. Taylor Swift’s lyrics aren’t particularly clever or insightful, they’re just very very smart in appealing to the masses. She herself is a smart woman who reveals enough of her private life to make people think they’re mates with her and when she releases an album they trawl through her lyrics piecing together which ex lover she’s referencing. Taylor fuels the parasocial relationship her fans have. And self obsessed influencers find personal meaning in it all and have a brief moment where they think “Taylor and I are so similar! We’ve both been sad and jaded after a break up, I’m going to tell all my followers that this resonates with me SO much because my perspective on a vanilla pop album is that important.”

I asked my paediatrician about sleep training my baby was 6 weeks old he said absolutely not yet give it at least another 6 weeks.

I was never going to do it then....he's currently sleeping on me and my husband is in the room laying with my 2 year old till he falls asleep that's how great I am at self settling
Don’t worry, I’m 516 months old and I still can’t self settle

I work in a similar space. When my boy was little he was a unicorn baby…. Then when he hit 18 months we had a massive sleep regression. Which taught me the art of not being smug.. All my friends were having settled babies and I felt I was going backwards. all babies are different. This unrealistic standard of how babies should be is so bloody dangerous for maternal mental health.

I’ll never understand how brands ever thought that sending PR packs to “influencers” and then the “influencer” sharing it, would make customers want to buy the products. Like cooool this person got sent all this free stuff, let me go out and use my own money to buy it. Insane. And we’ve all been sucked into this too,
