At Home With Me Kellie Leigh

New to Tattle Life? Click "Order Thread by Most Liked Posts" button below to get an idea of what the site is about:
Aka You, Me and the 6 C's

Stay at home Mum, showcases her weekly shop, meal ideas and loves planning, lists and books.

There is a Rave thread but recently it's become quite negative due to some noticing things said on her uploads aren't adding up, 1 minute finances low then talk of expensive luxury gifts, coats.
There was also questions raised about counting tins and writing it down in a planner. Is this good content or someone desperately filming something to make a few ££?

I agree about how strange it is that the first thing Kelly thinks of when Colby turns 18 is how he can look after his siblings. What a responsibility for an 18 year old. He probably can’t wait to leave home to have his own space and escape his overbearing mother 🤔

A very odd comment not to mention her ordering out of the M&S food book while James is only working 3 nights a week ,where are they pulling the cash from...

As James is self employed I wonder if they got help from the government because of Covid? Also tax credits / universal credit and child benefit. I have no issue with this as it’s there to help families but I do think she could help herself a bit more by contributing by working while James is at home.

Well it's obvious they must be getting top ups .Even if you google a taxi mans earnings (pre covid) you'll see it could never fund their lifestyle .I'm completely for families claiming benefits if they're struggling but holidays abroad plus endless expensive clothes and gadgets tells me they shouldn't be claiming anything ..It reeks of benefit fraud .

Why do they need a Turkey from M&S? You can get cheaper turkeys elsewhere that feed a family that size and taste the same, or nicer!! M&S turkeys are so overpriced!! We get some food from there as a treat but there's no way I'd buy a turkey there.

Yes you can get perfectly good Turkey and ham in the local butchers for half what you'd pay in M&S

As a self employed taxi driver basically James can declare whatever he wants on his tax return ( if you know what I mean). So if they are classed as a low income family they will get help, be it tax credits/ universal credits and with 5 kids that can add up to quite a bit. They will also get child benefit on top this.
As Kelly Has been out of the work place for so long and I think she’s said she has no qualifications the type of job she could get will probably not equal what they get in benefits. So basically it’s not worth her working. The benefits system is all wrong😡.

She must be so bored though. She never does anything by herself away from the home. All she does is shop. She doesn’t drive so James does all the school runs! I just feel she very overbearing and controlling.

I think she a food snob 😂

Something that has always really bugged me every week with her meal plan is there's always at least one meal with salad. What child honestly likes a weekly salad? Maybe it's just me but the thought of salad during Autumn/Winter really doesn't float my boat. I like carbs and Winter warmer meals.

I think the benefits system has changed now since UC (might be wrong) I think once the youngest child starts school the husband can no longer claim for the wife as a dependant she's expected to be available for work . One of my friends is a single parent and the minute her daughter started school she had to move to job seekers only part-time until her daughter is 16 .

And what’s always bugged me is that her and James have a full size dinner plate and the kids who are 14,16,18 she gives them a plate which looks the same size as a side plate. No wonder she can keep her weekly shop under a £100 for 7 of them!. They must be filling up on biscuits and crisps.

If I’m wrong then I apologise in advance, but any new claimants go straight onto UC. But I think Kelly could possibly be on the old style Tax Credits, which they have probably been on for years.

I really liked Kelly, but now feel she's lost a lot of what was relatable. I think she goes through lots of fads and gets bored very quickly. She used to cook quite a lot from scratch, now it's mainly convenience meals. Also this week she said she wasn't meal planning and would just wing it,which is odd considering her obsession with planners. Kelly and Helen from Wright at Home used to be my favourites, but now Kelly seems bored and Helen has signed up to Channel mum and is going down that commercialised mummy flogger route, she obviously set up the po box for freebies. The whole social media vlogging world seems like it can really change usually down to earth people

Her portion for Carson on yesterdays vlog was minute I also think Cerise gets a very small portion that she takes to dance ,if she's exercising you'd think she'd need something more substantial.

I can't get over the fact she can keep her weekly shop so low, especially this week's grocery haul!

Yes it would be income support she'd only change to UC if there's a change in circumstances which there has been now James is part -time and Carson is in full time education ,,no wonder she's back vlogging

I’ve always thought she bulks out her meals with lots of veg and potatoes which are relatively cheap. And the joint of meat would always be quite small, that’s how she must keep her shop so cheap.

Oh yes didn’t think of it that way 🙂. Also as the eldest looks like he’s going off to Uni next year, their Money will drop again as they won’t be able to claim for him anymore.

Yeah Colby already had a job pre lockdown maybe he's had to give that up if pubs are closed (not sure what Liverpools restrictions are)

He’s working in McDonald’s now I think, so he will still be working.

The rubbish content I think means she needs the pennies . I admire her for keeping the kids off , but unfortunately they were good content for her . She’s just too boring - the whole planner thing , where she records herself dithering with stickers is very bizarre .

I didnt think you could claim income support if you are married/have a partner. I was once on income support when I was living alone with my children. Then my partner moved in and the claim has to be stopped. I'm not ashamed to admit that we do get help (husband works full time, I'm a SAHM) but its only a portion of tax credits for my 2 eldest children born prior to 2017, we also receive less than £20 a month work tax credits. I may be wrong but I'm almost certain she cant claim income support or UC as a family? She most likely gets tax credits for the kids. Having said that, they are all born prior to 2017 so that would amount to a fair bit
