same here, my boss typing quietly next to me when we were the only people in the office used to get me.

also reminds me of being a child, a friend playing with my hair in the playground. just absent mindedly fiddling with it sat behind me, it's quite a common first trigger that. also tracing on eachothers back's as children. I think that epitomises what asmr is like actually, that innocent closeness (i heard whispersred years and years ago explain that intimacy and sex aren't related, and that's what personal attention in asmr is about really) and nice tickly feeling from being a child. it's why I hate how it's seen as weird or sexual, and why it REALLY annoys me when creators try and sexualise it for views etc.; it really muddies the whole thing and makes it seem sordid

had a wonderful opticians appointment today & the optometrist had such a relaxing manner, speaking very soft to the point it was barely a whisper, using gentle fluid motions whilst using the equipment & typing & showing me how wrecked my eyesight is lol.
It got me thinking about how this craft could be utilised in many professions as an unofficial USP.
Will defo go back to this woman but I noticed throughout my daily life I always prefer & will choose a service from those who give me unintentional asmr. This also happened a few years ago were I went for an eyebrow wax from a lovely young girl with such a gentle and relaxing expertise that I almost fell asleep mid wax. (I’m now her regular)

Why is Be Brave Be You always so angry. Angry posts all on her youtube community page. Always complaining she has dropping views, complaining she gets no sponsored or collaboration views. Nobody’s forcing you to do this luv? You can get a real job if you are not doing well at this one anymore? Her negative attitude really puts me off

I know this wasn’t your point but absolutely cracked up at the “showing how wrecked my eyesight is” part. Just imagining a scene of someone people incredibly relaxed whilst listening to a gentle whisper of “im sorry to tell you this but your vision is fucked, I’m going to declare you legally blind….would you like to listen to me tapping on your state registered disability card?”

Sorry if that was insensitive, but that’s immediately the image my brain conjured up

Friends playing with your hair or doing the "x marks the spot" on your back. I also used to love it in class when everyone was quietly working on something and someone would be rummaging through their pencil pouch or arranging markers or colored pencils. Also when teachers would use the projectors with the plastic worksheets, watching them write math problems.

I mentioned this earlier in the thread, a podcast did a deep dive into her transition from pornstar to conservative tradwife a few months ago… But it seems like only now the conspiracy and confusion is gaining traction.

Good for her for changing her life to be better for herself, but how does someone go from being so open minded, sex positive, bisexual, left wing opinions to right down the alt right anti vaccine conspiracy anti-abortion pipeline? Did she get a lobotomy

it's a fetish. she's either gearing up for more OF content or already doing it more privately on the side. All of this is an act, unfortunately it seems like ASMR was just another way for her to get attention/subs/monetise content at the time, followed by OF, now this. Similar to itsblitzzz and her chasing various trends to try and 'make it' as an influencer.

Yes @squatternutbosh! I love when asmr happens in real life. Long before I knew about asmr, I would get tingles at the library when having my books checked out. It's always an unexpected delight when you experience it somewhere in the wild, so to speak!

Minx Laura is now selling Avon,both her and Nathan were made redundant . She posted on Facebook asking if anyone knew of jobs, someone mentioned because of her mental health problems and Adhd she should be entitled to some kind of benefits, Laura admitted she didn't have any diagnosis so couldn’t claim anything. I now question so much of what she has said in the past, people like her who self diagnose make things difficult for people who have professional diagnosis. I think Laura is strumore than ever because now she is having to face adult responsibilities, where as her mum always did everything for her and Nathan to some extent,at 43 Laura admitted she had no idea how to pay bills or save money,because her mum did it and spoilt her,Laura used her money to buy whatever wanted. Shes now so focused on making money her Asmr is no longer as good as it used to be.

Of course she is selling Avon. I have noticed a pattern of self diagnosis in ASMRtists. I follow some of them on twitter and noticed that after Gibi said she was diagnosed with ADHD, a lot of people all of the sudden also had ADHD. It seems to me like being neurodivergent is trendy in ASMR. I think it would do Laura a lot of good to get off the internet and try working a job where you have to leave the house. It wouldn't surprise me if her audience was enabling a lot of her childish behaviors as well. She has a habit of pity baiting and I don't think she would keep it up if she wasn't getting something from it.

She really is - I love her asmr role plays but unsubscribed from her other channel as all she used to do was moan and be negative. She would do unboxing videos of glossy boxes and complain about every single product, why she kept ordering them I’ll never know

Maybe complaining makes her happy! Some people are like that. I just saw the most recent complaining post on her community page. To me, it feels like she's trying to put herself in a victim position to her followers which is cringe. I can see that her views are down and I am sure that is frustrating but the people who are looking at her community page are the people who are still there and supporting her. There must be a lot of emotional whiplash for her followers. The complaining and also it looks like a lot of her video thumbnails really look the same are probably both why her views are down.

Ugh whisperaudios latest annual physical exam thumbnail the comments at least one person has said though that they remember when Dr Hastings actually looked like a Dr in these medical role plays and it’s a bit sad.
