yes and I also feel at a point in my career now that I’m trapped by my earnings, so to start something new I’d be taking a massive pay cut and a single income household my outgoings are very dependent on my current salary. I’d love to have the freedom to try something new and I have great admiration for people who take the risk it just wouldn’t be meDoes anyone else stick to a job because they don’t know what else they’d do??
Same here. I do like my job but it consumes my life. I want a job that doesn't impact my life and I can forget about. But I would lose so much money.yes and I also feel at a point in my career now that I’m trapped by my earnings, so to start something new I’d be taking a massive pay cut and a single income household my outgoings are very dependent on my current salary. "Hi X,Funny how the same people who take weeks to complete tasks or respond to my emails (or just completely ignore them) want me to immediately jump on their requests. I should make them wait weeks like they love to do.
They don't even do me that simple courtesy. They just completely ignore my emails. So if I were to play their game I would either ignore their request or I would let it sit for six weeks."Hi X,
Just acknowledging your request. I'll attend to this once I have completed my list of priority tasks.
Regards
Y".
Two can play at that game etc

Or other people's, anything to avoid them doing the job they're paid to do. Do we have the same manager?Managers helping you with your job to get out of doing their own jobs

Are you able to maybe tell them about what she's like without putting a date on it? So be vague about when these things happened but still be able to explain enough that they will get a better picture of her behaviour?I have a dilemma; my line manager is a rude bully and has consistently picked on someone/anyone in her own team (me included) all the time I've known her, for several years.
Her latest 2x victims have taken out a grievance and I've been asked to go and meet with the manager who is investigating the situation.
My dilemma is that I want to talk but I don't want anything I say to get back to my line manager - she's going to know that anything from years ago can only have come from me as I'm the only long standing member of staff.
She's snappy and sarcastic - all her previous victims have moved on to new jobs - but she's actually ok-ish with me cos I won't play her games, I've previously told 3x managers exactly what she is like.
I just feel like I'm in a really vulnerable position - I could speak out and say all the things she's done over the years, but I feel it's likely to blow up in my face. Obviously I don't want her relentlessly bullying colleagues, but she's ok with me - it's just so awkward![]()
