Coworker who tried to catch me out when I was at the dentist the other week had a meeting with our line manager today (who we rarely see as he lives at the other end of the country). She expressed her frustration that our lazy colleague will openly play games on his phone, watches videos, leaves the office an hour early, when wfh, he goes offline all the time…. And our line manager isn’t remotely bothered. Btw, these 2 people have a close relationship, so I’m surprised the didn’t take it on board what she was saying to him.
It looks like, as long as the minimum work is done, he’s ok with it

However, the rest of the team are snowed under with our projects. Resentment is building sideways and I’m worried we will all turn against each other.
I actually had a meeting with my line manager the other week as we all had to go through our personal objectives for the year. I did speak to him at the end of it and said I had I felt like expectations weren’t consistent across the team etc. I didn’t name names. I said some people take advantage of being allowed to be flexible and their availability and I’ve noticed certain patterns. My LM said I was going to have to dumb it right down for him, but I said I didn’t want to go into detail. He said if people aren’t doing their hours, he needs to know

. We ended it with him telling me he was back at our office the next week if I wanted to think about it, and we could have a catch up again, but then that came around and he never approached me and I wasn’t sure if It was even worth bringing up again. So, I just left it.
I didn’t tell my co worker today that I’d said anything to our LM when she was fuming about her meeting today. He (the LM) must know who I was talking about. I just needed to protect myself and not name anyone.
