Thanks for creating, I didn’t know how!
I’ve followed Alice from the start, when she was fab girling over the big interior accounts. Now she’s found herself in the mix with them she’s changed so much and not for the better.

So peeved that Kitchenaid gave her a free mixer - WHY??!! I've had mine for years and certainly don't appreciate influencers being given stuff that most people work hard and save up for

I don’t understand why people like her style so much. She puts way to much “stuff” in every room. Just too much everything. Her latest “update” in her kitchen is warm wood panelling which looks horrific. I love myself a bit of panelling as much as the next person, but this is 🥴 too too much. It looks so old fashioned and not in a good way. It’s awful. Sometimes less is more…

She’s shared some stories recently responding to criticism. Completely doesn’t get that even if she’s not getting paid for the ad pr gift stuff she’s still getting paid in kind by being sent the stuff 🙄

To be fair I don't like her style but I am less bothered by that than the fact that she doesn't seem to pay for anything.
Yes...totally agree. She pays for nothing whatsoever. Last Christmas she was gifted a whole lot of stuff to make her Christmas OTT (or Over The Top Table) hanging Decoration). Gifted tableware. A chair. An Umberella basket for the hall. In fact.... pays for sod all !

Instagram accounts like this give me anxiety as everything looks so staged and perfect and it makes you feel like your own place looks totally crap!

I also think if you make a living posting pictures of your decorating style on Instagram, it’s not going to be everyone’s taste.

Finally that’s a lot of gifted expensive furniture that most people couldn’t afford. I get that this is how many companies now like to ‘advertise’ but I think it can make general people feel like crap. Or feel like they have to spend money they don’t have on furniture they can’t afford.

I have been over the White Company for a long time - do they still make any money or do they just give out paid partnerships to instahuns?!

Yeah, she’s probably sold half of it before she even posts it. That house doesn’t look big enough for the amount of stuff she seems to show us!

I know, the kitchenaid mixer for one is a limited edition one alone costs £699 - for many this is a few days worth of work.

Basically in Somerset the type of house she wants is way out of her range I should think, so has to add character the decor way. Why she can't just go down the modern route or maybe eclectic, rather than the Country House/Soho style ! Sick of seeing panelled interiors, Neptune chairs etc and the dark and moody. I mean goodness sake, we get enough dark and moody days with the British weather🤷🏻‍♀️

I remember her saying she’d never do a house tour as the house didn’t really look like how it does on Instagram. It made me quite sad to think she’s ashamed of it.

I’ve seen a bit of chat about this lady on a couple of other threads so thought she deserved her own.

Thoughts?

Thanks for making a thread!

I think she takes nice photos. But I also don’t think she’s adding character to her new build the way she thinks she is. Character comes from good design and the age of a property. What she’s done is more like ‘set dressing’. IMO anyway! It looks good, but it isn’t character…

She already has. It's her latest project. But she has no formal qualifications so...
I always thought she has a good eye for photography but I really don’t think of her as an interior designer. Her stuff is pretty much just a rip off of Pinterest!
I haven’t realised she has already gone down the route of Instagram interiors designer 🥱
