I wouldn't care if these YouTubers were putting out money-making idea videos (the content of which is questionable anyway but that's another topic) but to put tit like "$100k a month!" and "$27k a week!" in the thumbnails is gross.

Really cannot be happy for anyone making that amount of money when our nurses are underpaid and the government could not be bothered to pay for hungry children to eat. Especially when these YouTubers make clickbait videos about cash avoidance.

Plus Ali has admitted it's clickbait he is not a cash millionaire anyway so wouldn't be surpriused if he was misreporting some of his revenues as profits etc. for the sake of getting views.

Ali's second channel popped up on my feed. I didn't watch the whole video but he definitely looks freer than he does on his main channel.

Anyone been looking at his views? I don't know what the metric is for good views but his second to last video got 80k views which doesn't seem like a lot for 1.8m subs.

Around 5:35 he mentions he has base model of the new iMac 24,5, but in the next weeks he will receive a fully spec-bumped version.
I mean, really?

How productive it is to again setup your new computer and spend so much cash on electronics?

Noticed there's quite a few comments on his new video saying that he's put out the same video about 4 times now so at least some people outside of this thread are getting sick of the content.

It's productive for him because he can make a new video comparing the two even though his new one literally just has a bigger SSD and more RAM and get more ad money and engagement.

Nah I've completely stopped watching him. Definitely poor engagement numbers.

I'm a few years older than him and just cannot fathom his approach to life. Not even to hate watch. 😬 I think those who still find Ali admirable may also be quite young and still undergrads? Just an impression I get.

Absolutely! I can’t imagine someone with a degree or already working not seeing through his bs.

This might be where the disconnect between his content and his audience comes from. Like, I currently watch and enjoy The Financial Diet, but when I looked into their channel as a student, I couldn't make much of it at all. It's not rich people advice, but not student-budget advice at all.

And here Ali is unboxing products that could cover years worth of rent and tuition, giving advice on how to create passive streams of income using affiliate links and a successful youtube channel to... 21 year olds with a webcame built into their crappy laptops? Why does he think these videos are appropriate for his audience, many among which would literally have to take out a loan to purchase a gigantic apple computer they don't need...

When he had more study-related stuff, many could relate to it. Even I, after graduation related to it, because I was doing some additional education. I am 30 y.o. - I can't understand his content and the way it goes. He looks like a banana-guy from rich family, who doesn't know what to do in life and his biggest problem is that his M1 iMac has 7, instead of 8 GPU cores.

Yeah his recent videos just don’t resonate with me at all. 9 income streams but first you have to become a YouTuber with hundreds of thousands of subscribers to shill tit to. No thanks 🤚🏻

I think at this points Ali's videos must just be wannabe entrepreneurs and YouTubers. He's become an influencer in that space only and his content is geared towards that and it's only going to get that way further over time. Look at the comments nowadays and it's just other YouTubers circle jerking and trying to get noticed by him or people from countries like India and Pakistan who see him as very aspirational. The "normal" people who were commenting on his videos 18 months ago have all left, because guess what we don't want to build 9 income streams we've got jobs to work and degrees to study for.

Can't help but think he's just incredibly jealous of his brother and wants to go down that route.

Tbh I hope people like KharmaMedic keep on the medical student train. I was interested to see Ali's journey from student to fully trained doctor so it's a shame that journey has now ended.

Man is having an identity crisis. He wants to be Matt Da'valla, his brother Taimur, MKBHD, Ed Sheeran and a productivity guru and entrepreneur all in one. His Instagram and Twitter feeds are weird messes. He's changed what he wants to do with his life completely about 3 times in the past year. Sort it out mate.

I'm a couple of years older than him too and definitely far less well off (and less intelligent, but think I've got my head screwed on better...) but not jealous in the slightest (apart from the fact he's on the property ladder). His life seems boring and sad to me despite his calendar being full up.

You see people like him throughout school and uni but they seem to drop off as you enter working life, either they learn to cope or idk get deep in academia or something. I can see Ali being very aspirational to people across the world from a similar ethnic and religious background, and also to some students in the UK, but not anything like a majority of the UK student population. I suspect many of his viewers are now international in the USA and other parts of the world.

Who's going to buy a course from "Doctor + YouTuber" on Jazz Piano when there is so much other good and free material online, by actual musicians.

Has anyone actually used Skillshare? I have been hearing more and more how they're an absolutely dodgy company.

IMO his main point of interest for subscribers was studying medicine and being a doctor. Hobbies like music and tech were extras alongside that, but not the focus of his content. Now it’s like he’s throwing anything out there and hoping it will stick. And earn him money, ofc. It feels disingenuous to create a paid course in something that he’s not qualified to teach (afaik).

Very rich of him especially since he was going on about JustinGuitar in one of his previous previous. An actual good and free course (well not just course, full on website) by very talented musicians and teachers.

Because all he does is grind out stuff for £££, he’s completely lost touch with everything that’s important, but maybe going back to medicine might help?

His videos are so bleeping boring now. B-roll we've all seen before. Sitting in front of a boring background with his Macbook out. I wish he'd learn something from Matt about like...cinematography or good editing.

Could we get a thread for Productivitytubers in general? I know there's this one for Ali and also one for Holly Gabrielle but might be nice to have a space to discuss people like Nathaniel Drew, Matt D'Valla, KharmaMedic and others in that circle.

Kharma Medic seems to me more down to earth, he has a private life - a girlfriend and the attitude that "I will not make new videos because I've to pass and exam and/or focus more on private life". I think that for him youtube and other media are just addition, a hobby whereas with Ali social media are his life, he doesn't have girlfriend/boyfriend and seems to be stuck in the bubble "I have no goal in my life".

Ali = delicious looking cookie which gives you hard bowel movements
