She must have forgotten her own advice: "15. Nobody wants to hear about the dream you just had."

I've been feeling nostalgic for the noughties and thought I would revisit Alexa Chung!Bless you for digging that up! Is it just Alexa or does every celebrity get asked a list of questions in lieu of an actual interview or article? It feels like every time she's mentioned in the media, it's "5 questions with Alexa Chung" or "Alexa's Top 5 things in her purse" or "Lightning Round: TEN questions with Alexa Chung!" Like, I get how the press works and that these are the fastest, most low-effort way to get engagement, but has anyone else noticed that?
She’s starting to become slightly tragic, the extreme thinness, the extreme try hard “edgy” fashion … fighting to stay relevant. I don’t feel bad saying this as we used to mix in the same circles and she’s not pleasant (UNLESS you are more famous than her AND zeitgeisty or just unbelievably cool AND not as good looking as her). The effortless vibe is a big myth too .. I used to see her taking ages to perfect her “undone” look in the toilets - back combing hair etc .. she is VERY into what she looks like.

I did an acting course with her, and we shared friends from that (all male, she didn’t want female competition). I’ve been out at things with her a fair few times. I think if she likes you and you’re in the clique, she’s a decent friend, but the whole self deprecation thing is a big act (in case you hadn’t worked that out) … she’s not humble or modest in any genuine way. You get people that are very good looking and have that natural goofiness and coyness; Harry Styles, for instance. She is much colder and can be very rude. She was incredibly rude to a lovely Dutch gay guy I know, who is handsome, charming (but not cool) - I only mention his sexuality as he wasn’t “cracking on” to her .. that was obvious.. he didn’t know who she was and said he recognised her from somewhere and was she a model that worked at one of his events (she just laughed in his face and walked of). He is the sweetest guy and everyone likes him. She is incredibly striking in real life and was more so (IMO) when she was on T4 (at this time of the course) and was a healthier weight. Her face is naturally quite full and I often wonder if the extreme dieting was to get that thin face she wanted to photograph more “edgy” and modelly. I also have a naturally full face as have eastern genes and it really is the last place you will lose weight when you are made like that. She was before models with fuller faces like Lily Cole and of course more recently, Gigi Hadid and Lila Moss. I think without the natural fuller cheeks her chin looks out of proportion and slightly manly.Do spill any more tea!
Totally agree! She was very attractive, but there were lots of other very attractive girls (and guys) on the course … it was a popular one for models and dancers moving into acting .. as it was part time around other commitments. I think she got T4 during it as it’s two years. She was the year above us. I saw her at things post weight loss, and it sort of did make her stand out more, as awful as that is, as she looked taller for it. She isn’t short of course, but also not crazy tall like a supermodel. She was always scanning the room and that made her seem somewhat insecure. I can’t say too much more as it would be too outing. I realise this is a rave thread, so to add balance, I will say she is incredibly quick and doesn’t miss a trick. She has a bigger intellect than most models and TV presenters and again that was a point of difference and helped her get on. I know that’s sort of obvious, but in real life it’s quite striking when you meet her.Thank you for the tea @GingerSquid. The most surprising thing to me is that she took acting courses. Maybe you have to do that if you're on TV? I don't think she'd be where she is today if she hadn't lost all that weight. She is naturally beautiful, but her thinness is probably, sadly, the real reason she was a fashion darling. She also has the benefit of a petite frame, so she somehow doesn't look bony or sickly (of course, who knows what her health is like). I have a friend who used to run into her occasionally when she lived in New York, and she said each time she was shocked at how tiny Alexa is in real life.
I assumed she was so thin because she did drugs, so that's surprising to hear.I’ve heard a few wild rumours in my time that she and Alex broke up as she cheated on him (won’t mention who with).
I think she’s got her head screwed on and is super bright, albeit definitely with disordered eating. Impressive that she didn’t ever touch drugs given the circles she ran in (and the desire to be so thin).
That set she was in with for a while Nick Grimshaw etc was very snowy. She was also besties with Poppy and Cara D for a while and there are loads of blinds and bits on here about their love of the white stuff. I can’t imagine her only sipping on a Diet Coke in the corner.I don’t believe for a second that she never dabbled in substances, though she probably doesn’t anymore. With her lifestyle and friend group (and weight loss) at the height of her popularity, it seems inevitable that she would, but she must’ve been more discreet about it than other, bigger celebrities. Does anyone else remember gossip sites from the aughts that were full of paparazzi photos of celebs passed out at parties and whatnot? What a wild time.
I've seen many pictures of her where her pupils came in crazy sizes, so I doubt very much she never touched drugs lolI don’t believe for a second that she never dabbled in substances, though she probably doesn’t anymore.
