The new system is rubbish.
The only reason I shopped in Lidl regularly was because of the rewards. I loved meeting the little targets through the month.
aldi is closer to me so can see me heading there more regularly now
Same here. They've lost a major differentiation for me, although their salted peanuts are good. Otherwise they are so similar to Aldi I just won't bother.

I only go to Lidl for the app. I was always an Aldi girl before and probably will be again now. I cannot express how much I hate those baskets that you have to pull around. I’ve just been to Aldi where I can carry a basket 😂

Same, I only go when I check the app and see I have money off of my favourite items/ free items. Won’t bother now!

I hope we won't get that new system here. Doesn’t sound good. Don’t fix something that isn't broken!

Just seen an IG post, the Taste of Asia range in Aldi looks good, I know the curries are popular, is this range just as nice ?

YES! Those fricking massive pull-along baskets! Hate them too :ROFLMAO:

I sometimes just take my bag and fill it up and then make sure to tip it fully out onto the conveyor so they can see I'm paying for everything.

I do this in Lidl to avoid those baskets, too. End up performatively displaying my woodland trust jute shopper like a third rate stage musician showing they have nothing up their sleeves.

We should petition them to put the app back to normal and give us proper baskets so we don’t have to resort to looking like shoplifters! I tend to try and carry stuff in my arms and end up in a mess.

I have been such a staunch advocate of the Lidl app for years and now I feel confused 😢

I agree the Lidl app change seems unnecessary. It's essentially my corner shop buy I prefer some products from Aldi so changing won't affect me at all.

I've read nothing about the changes really so it's probably my own fault but I'm also confused. I want my free bakery sweet treat back

This is how I use Lidl. Aldi is my main shop, in a neighbouring town, and Lidl in my town is my corner shop that I pick up midweek bits in. Even using it like that I still used to get loads of freebies to really disappointed by the change to the app.

Basically you're worse off. Before the free bakery item was when you spent £10 each month in store. Now you need around £60 to get that free bakery item.

They give you £3 off when you get £300 or £5 when you spend £500. They say double points on fruit so maybe some will get there faster.

It's okay if it's your closest food shop and you'd still get some freebies instead of nothing.

Thank you for explaining to me!

Having to spend £60 to get a free bakery item that will be at most £2 (the speculoos muffin cost me this much) is diabolical work from them
