My boobs hurt every month and I am never pregnant (thank god). Just in case you’re alarmed by the above suggestion.

I like Fantasie bras.

Agree V necks are better for big boobs but it’s hard to find v necks a lot of the time.

Thanks so so much for this! I’m quite shocked but I really want to find out what proper size I am now. I was measured ages ago by marks but the bras never seem to fit right at all, and my armpits seem to go over the top slightly so I know they aren’t sitting right. So I will have a go at this. Thank you such a lot x
Definitely don’t go by marks measurement, they are useless!

Does your bra ride up at the back? If so, it’s not the right size.

I used this link you posted and you were totally right! I’m a 28F! Xx
You're deinfately not massive, a 28f is not the same size as a 38f, I'll try to find one of their fb posts and show you the comparison, but also so happy for you that you have found your size!

Straps are really just for comfort - as in the expectation we have of shoulders being involved - but the work of support should be coming from beneath and from the cups, so your straps really shouldn’t be taking any strain and certainly not be tight.

Going to Bravissimo is a great shout - you’ll feel like a different woman x

Hey, I love marks and Spencer minimiser bras and curvissa.
I find a v neck line flatters, a polo neck style is out the question for me! X
Thanks I have just sent for a m&s bra but it didn’t quite fit right so was wondering whether to send for another one, it’s hard with it not being open - can’t try on diff sizes. But I will take your advice and try some more from there xx thanks xx

If it’s further comfort, 28 back is really very petite.

Fits vary slightly across brands so just be mindful of that if the fit‘s are different.

Minimisers aren’t really your friend, they just squash you flat so you look like you have two dinner plates strapped to you. Up and out will give you a better shape - if that’s what you’re looking for - give your torso space and therefore your waist.

34dd isn’t spectacularly big, perhaps get measured at bravissimo or a bra specialist. The idea that D cup is big, came from the 80s page3 D Cup cliche. I went from an M&S C cup to a Bravissimo F cup - don’t be scared of the sizing or dismayed - it did me wonders in terms of healthy safe support for my boobs, plus a good shaper for the rest of me.

Try to embrace and love your shape - a big ask for us ladies sometimes I know - try not to be sucked into the V neck thing. I am now a 36GG (all fat I am not in the least embarrassed to say - my body is what it is) and all of my clothes are high-necked and I strongly favour a shirt buttoned all the way up. You don’t need to follow “rules”.
I think I will see if I can get measured again, like people have suggested and maybe look at a different type of bra instead of a minimiser. I don’t really know what I’m trying to achieve but I don’t think I’m getting the right support and it makes clothes hang funny. I’m only small, a size 8 and i feel out of proportion and I hate it so much. I feel that I’m just wearing baggy clothes all of the time because I can’t dress for my shape. I hate having a big chest and wish I was a size or two smaller- they also are really sore at the moment because of hormones and I find them really heavy and that the bras I have I give no support xx

I do understand how you feel as a 34g, I really don't want them to be the centre of attention but I do find lower necklines more flattering. If I wear polonecks I feel like my tits are coming out my chin! 🤣 I favour a square neckline, harder to find but I think it's flattering x
Yes Iv been looking everywhere for square necklines and I have seen some but I think my bras don’t give me any support at all and so I end up looking really weird! I don’t know if that makes sense! It’s just getting me down because I look in the mirror and feel everything looks wrong on me!! C

I can't find the post but I did find someone who is a 26h and got a pack of 38d bras from matalan, took the straps apart and resewed them and the cups fit perfectly.
Also 28f would equal to a 30e or a 32dd, or a 26g, I can't remember all the details of the cup sizing and how much they differ. So cos I'm a 30h (last time I measured myself ages ago) would be a 32gg, 34g, etc. I have one sports bra that's a 34g.

This is a really nice supportive bra, I used to have one of these. Also would recommend you stay away from moulded cup bras for now.

Yes, frumpy is how I feel. I hear ya sista.

i go for a full cup T-shirt bra style - no seams, no padding. Awful plain but balconettes give me oomf I fundamentally don’t need.

I need to stop shopping for bras, I can't bear wearing underwire anymore! I got one of those dd+ bralets in M&S but I'm too big for it and it's no support at all, but it's pretty and I can't face taking it back
I love those bralets. Id like something more comfy to wear around the house cos going braless makes me feel 🤢 i cant have them hanging about but i also need abit of support. Molkes look great for this but i havent tried them

Sleep bras/bralettes - I’ve got some ancient crop tops that were about £5 from Sainsbury’s and are comfy and give a bit of support.
Cosabella do lace bralettes that are pretty and surprisingly supportive, the halterneck ones are brilliant. Bit £££ but worth it.

If you're a size 8 you definitely aren't a 34dd, im 12/14 and wear a 30 band. Boob or bust recommend that your band measurement should not be over 20 inches plus your dress size, so I'd hazard a guess you will actually be a 26/28 band. Plus cup size, don't be alarmed if you turn out to be f or g or higher. I can totally understand why you want a minimizer bra but if you are properly measured and you can do this at home with a cloth tape, you will find that a well fitted and supportive bra will change your life. I don't know what my exact cup size is now as I don't wear normal bras anymore, I only wear Molke, they are intended for breastfeeding but they are a lifesaver for me who hates clasps and fiddly bits, but they aren't suited to everyone.

So Iv just measured my boobs with a link someone posted and it says I’m a 28F!! Makes me feel massive!

I asked because I’ve posted on another thread she’s on talking about worrying she won’t be able to get pregnant if she goes through an early menopause like her Mum.
No my nipples don’t hurt hun, just ache and are really heavy. It’s ever since I came off this injection! And my boobs are so uncomfortable that’s why I wondered if they had grown and maybe need another bra. Iv just measured them using a link someone posted and it says I’m 28F! Xx

Thanks so much! I will stay away from them then for abit. I feel I do need something supportive because they are so painful! I will have an good look at these suggestions and I will prob order them and try them on and see what’s best, I suppose it’s a case of trying diff styles and brands on now and finding out what is best for me. Your advice, and everyone’s has been so brilliant xxx
