I think O2 was trying to start residencies over here with Michael Jackson but well he died so that never happened. I do think Prince did it too but MJs was double the amount.

It’s a great idea especially for the artists with families then they don’t have to tour around plus it’s a known thing that they don’t often sing live on the strip, it’s lipsynced to a pre recorded live vocal due to the demand of singing every single night for 20+ shows! So it’s not a demanding event either’

Jane MacDonald wouldn’t have been such a diva. She would just get up and belt out some tunes for the paying customers. Adele is becoming a bit too ‘now you see me, now you don’t.’
My local pantomime managed to carry on for six weeks when some cast and crew got the ‘Rona, I know it’s not Vegas and only £27 a ticket but even so. Her lack of professionalism is questionable.
When I was a little girl I had a ragdoll, only doll I've ever owned' :ROFLMAO:

Adele must have thought if she sat pretending to cry waving those stupid nails around her fans would presume that not in a million years would I let my fans down I've got my nails on ready to go. It's the bleedin crew they ain't ready cos of the lurgy. Think Adele can't be arsed anymore. She has made her money!

I still find it weird she never rescheduled the two massive Wembley dates she cancelled back in 2017. I actually went to one of them, was lucky to go as she cancelled the show after mine. I was so shocked that she never did those dates at a later date, especially with it being London and was sort of a homecoming for her.
In all honesty I think this Vegas thing should have waited till next year, covid is so up in the air right now I’m not sure who made the choice to put these shows on at such a time.
Yeah surely rescheduling those dates in her home country should take priority over Vegas residency?

I was due to attend the cancelled show. My sister had flown over from South Africa to see her.

I didn’t buy the story then (especially as she added a show last minute) and don’t buy the fake tears now. Something doesn’t feel right with her anymore

She’s tit and she knows it. She probably sounded like a bag of cats in rehearsals. Sure how many times does she have to stop and start again because she’s off key. She doesn’t deserve the hype anymore. Her voice ain’t what it was

I‘m sure you wouldn’t get this sort of last-minute excuse-fakery from Dolly Parton (for example - no idea if she still tours but she just gets on with it, professional and amazing too.)

Surely with mega money you’d be able to get a world class crew together?

If it was down to covid then she should only need to postpone for two weeks max. The fact she has cancelled the entire thing shows she wasn’t into it and didn’t want to do it. Covid and delays and everything else is just a front and deflection for her baulking because she can’t sing anymore

It's the fact she's cancelled the full thing I thought it was just a few shows she had cancelled at first

It makes no sense to me that they’ve cancelled the ENTIRE residency 24 hours before for the 2 reasons she’s given. There’s definitely another reason.

If it’s for positive COVID tests in her crew then it only needs to be for a sufficient amount of time for them to isolate and test negative, then they could start, it just wouldn’t be on the intended opening night date.

If it’s for logistical/delivery reasons then it’s been very poorly organised, we’re almost 2 years into a pandemic and the whole industry is aware of the problem. Again, as above you’d only have to cancel the first initial dates giving you extra time to set up? Once all the equipment/staging is there you don’t have to move it or worry about logistics again, that’s literally one of the main selling points of a residency to an artist.

The shows were only scheduled every weekend? Surely only the opening weekend and maybe the one afterwards would have been okay to go from? That’s still the entire run of February-April?

Editing to add: I’ve basically just waffled and echoed exactly what the two users above me have posted whilst I’ve typed this out, sorry! 😂

I'd pay more for Jane Mcdonald than I would for Adele!
All Adele does is while to tit music, the female version of Chris Martin.

Adele is 5+ years past being decent.

I saw her in Sydney in 2017, and she was good then. But 5 years on, all she has done is put out the same depressing music that sold well 10 years ago, and has lost the relatable, funny British schtick. It’s quite depressing to watch her early interviews (pre 21) compared to her interviews now. She’s a shell of the person she once was. I think people have caught onto that.

I wouldn’t pay to see her again, and I will likely never seek her music out again. Times have changed, but she’s not adapting.

Or she could of done an acoustic / cut back show for the dates where the show couldn’t fully go ahead like Gaga did with the Jazz nights. Wouldn’t of been the full show but the die hard fans would of loved a few special one off shows!
That would have been a good idea, do lounge singer versions of her songs with a piano. Or even just use the studio backing tracks and sing over them. I'm sure for £500k a night she would have found a way to manage if she had of wanted to go ahead with it.

ironic she had no problem performing in front of her monied celebrity peers for the UK and US 'night with' specials.
