Adam's vlog. 🤦‍♀️

He has a "problem." He's tired of the repetition of doing "this" (i.e., vlogging).

Yeah, try working a real job, Adam.

He's also going to take a day off soon. He's giving himself a day off. Perhaps a series of days. Before his "big road trip."

So what? Just do it. It's like when JennTracker "thanks" the stans for "letting" them have a day off. Do these assnuts realize THEY have the luxury of making their own schedules? And it doesn't need to be supremely announced. And know if you had a real job, Adam, it may not be that easy to take your time off so willy-nilly before taking more time to go on yet another road trip.

And yet we're supposed to be commiserating with you that your "job" takes "time out of [your] day" because there's "a million other things that [you] could be doing."

Yeah, you and the rest of us.

Then he ponders a new project. Start another band? A podcast? Just drop off the internet? He wants an "arsenal" that will continually make "residual."

And states he has "thick skin" but he's going to "celebrate" the day when he "doesn't have to deal" with "that small, minute portion of very loud folks drawing opinions about every single thing [he] does" ... Umm...you signed up for this, dude. Especially considering all the things you've done on video (e.g., trespassing) and most recently w/ playing around throwing out your friend's OF name to troll... so...

I mean, WTF. 🤦‍♀️

The more he does these walk-and-talks / rides-and-talks over the last year or so, the more I am disliking him. Sorry, not sorry. :cautious:

Seriously? It’s a real problem? I don’t think that word means what he thinks it means. And he is his own boss. So if there’s a problem, it’s his own damn fault. No one is forcing him to do what he does.
I know.

I am so over all these fucking vloggers.

I don't even know why some days I even look to see what new content they post.

They are so out of touch w/ the real world, it isn't even funny anymore.

Well I will give Adam some credit. He did follow through and sent the stickers and buttons. I got mine this week. I was out of town so I just opened today. The postmark was March 19th.

I'll give Adam a lot of credit here. This is an ever-evolving subculture of YouTube travel/lifestyle vlogging he's entrenched in. He is one of the original guys doing this style of video and he has tried all sorts of methods and even went the current Disney vlogger style route. He has the ability to read the audience, the landscape and adapt. There is nothing wrong with that in my opinion. I would argue that his strategy (albeit hairbrained) is optimal by being fluid and adaptive yet still retaining that Adam The Woo charm and style.

He's getting older and wants to put in some real honest work before settling down in a few years (just my guess). Kudos to him and I'm looking forward to what's coming. He's a genuinely good dude from my perspective and I wish him all the best. I'm a fan.

Probably an unpopular opinion, but I don't care about this. All of these YouTubers doing livestreams in the parks and property, along with Disney videos, are ALL profiting on Disney's dime. PMM's gluttony with food and alcohol is more problematic to me. I could give a lot of examples of problematic Disney vloggers, but you can find the information on this site under their specific pages. I don't shame sex work. It baffles how many people are so offended by sex work but the industry is thriving with customers and $$$$$$$$$$$$. Go figure!

Although, I do not like her little-girl voice and I think the age difference is creepy. I am a couple of years older than Adam (we share the same birthday) can't imagine dating someone the age of my sons. But, to each his/her own.

It is also weird that people think Adam is this sweet, innocent person. The whole golly-gee things is so manipulative - à la Paging Mr. Morrow, Kyle Pallo, Michael Kay, and Tim Tracker, to name a few.

Oh boy, I am excited to have found this forum! I've been watching Adam's videos for a while now. I think I discovered him back in 2019 while preparing a trip to Disneyland (for my mom's birthday -- she LOVED it!). None of my friends watch his stuff, though, so until now I haven't had an outlet to discuss it. I have LOTS of thoughts and questions that I've accumulated over the past few years, so I apologize in advance as this post is going to be pretty long (I'll do my best to keep it organized, though).

Personality
Adam is very gregarious and does not appear to be self-conscious at all. That personality type draws people in, and he makes otherwise dry topics (like the backroads "exploring" videos) interesting. I feel like if he had a real job, he'd do well in a role interacting with the public -- he'd be a good concierge or a good salesman (if he could focus enough to learn about whatever product he'd be selling) -- or if he chose to use his powers for evil, he could be a very successful con artist. I have some friends with similar personality types, and they are really fun to be around even though it can sometimes be hard to get a word in edgewise. I wonder how much of his personality is genuine and how much of it is just playing a character for the camera.

He's not as smart as he thinks he is
Adam talks like a 10th grader who got an SAT prep book and just skimmed the vocabulary section. To borrow a phrase I read elsewhere, he sometimes seems like "a dumb person's idea of what a smart person sounds like." He's impulsive and doesn't always think everything through. That can make for interesting content (while I wouldn't personally want to go on a last-minute road trip with minimal planning, I'll admit that it can be fun to watch Adam take one), much of his spur-of-the-moment stuff could be executed so much better with just a little forethought.

But he's also smarter than he seems
Adam understands the YouTube algorithms and ad policies and makes his videos in a way that works best with those. His "walk and talk" videos, for example, could easily be cut down to just a few minutes (heck, the message in most could usually be boiled down to a <240 character tweet), but he drags them out to 30 minutes or more with rambling, distractions, diversions, talking to wildlife, etc to allow for ad placement. His collaborations with other YouTubers help to further expand his already large audience. And he's usually smart enough to show a wide variety of content to appeal to a range of viewers (Don't like the Disney content? He's got you covered with a Route 66 road trip. Don't like those? He's got you covered with a variety of conventions and county fairs.). But lately it seems that he's been focusing on what he likes best (all things Disney!) to the detriment of all the rest.

Finances
I usually don't think about "What does that all cost???" when watching YouTube videos, but Adam's recent subtle (and not-so-subtle) references to money have left me wondering about the financial position of YouTubers in general and Adam specifically. Just how much does he earn from YouTube revenue? How much of that is saved (he's talked about "retirement" at some point), and how much goes right back into content creation (theme park passes, DVC membership, hotel stays, multiple apartment leases, even camera equipment)? The concept of "content creator" being a full-time job is still so new and subject to the whims of YouTube that it's hard to tell what the future might hold, and it makes me wonder what level of future planning he's done.

Self-Addressed Stamped Envelopes
That whole SASE debacle has cracked me up from the start, and I am here for it! His videos see between 50k-100k views in their first few weeks, and his channel has 600k+ subscribers. Even if only 1% of his viewers want a sticker, just stuffing those envelopes will take a considerable amount of time. And, of course, anything heavier than 1 oz requires more than just a single stamp... and anything bulkier than a few pieces of paper will get destroyed in the postal service sorting machinery (I've tried it myself before) if additional packaging isn't included. He claims he "tested" the post office box, but I didn't get the feeling that he actually sent a sticker and pin in that test envelope. Still, I sent him a SASE out of my own curiosity. I will report back if I get it back.

Friends of The Woo
Going back to his outgoing personality, I feel like he is at his best when he has a friend with him in his videos. He's clearly a pretty social guy, so he can really shine when he's able to interact with someone. It's easy to overdo it, though. I recall a video a while back when he went to a theme park (maybe Disneyland?) with a whole gaggle of vloggers, and they were all trying to compete for attention -- it was exhausting to watch. But if it's just him and one other person, the content is a lot more fun to watch. When he's on his own, he devolves into talking to squirrels and spouting off catchphrases, but when he has someone else to bounce things off of, it keeps him on track a bit more.
In particular, I discovered Tampa Jay via Adam's videos. I didn't watch their many baseball videos last year because the only thing I can think of more dull than watching baseball on TV is watching someone watch baseball, but more recently I saw the two of them together somewhere else and found him pretty entertaining. He seems like a "store brand Adam" but I'm finding that, just like with the store brand version of Rice Krispies, I'm starting to prefer him over the original. Oh, and Jay's girlfriend Cris seems sweet and nice, and she doesn't make me feel like I'm going to catch all three hepatitises through my screen.

In all I generally like Adam's videos. At worst they're fun time-wasting content, but at their best they introduce me to new places and things that I otherwise would never have known about. But some of the choices he makes truly baffle me.

Adam's just a wimp now and he knows it, he wouldn't have to be so defensive in the comments if that wasn't true. Instead of making good videos anymore he opts in for the safest route possible, things that he's already done dozens and hundreds of times.

I think he intended to force himself out of that pattern with the "break from vlogging at Walt Disney World", but as usual that was all words and no effort because the second he realized how challenging it is to vlog something different he came scrambling back to Magic Kingdom.

This also means that his whole notion of not caring about the money from his vlogs is complete bullshit because if he didn't care, he wouldn't have to post that vlog at the Magic Kingdom at all. He might want to believe that he himself is not in it for the money but if you can't resist for ONE day posting a boring overdone video that contradicts all of the goals you had for your channel's future, then money is 100% a factor.

Hope you had a great April Fools Day, Adam. You're the biggest joke of them all!

Never started a new thread before so hope this works! New thread title courtesy of @MojoFilter 🙂 (special mention to @DonnyBergerStan and @Cold&Bitter for great titles, too!)

What is going on with Adam liquidating his CA possessions? Will he and BLAB still be friends? Why won't he drop this shit off at the Goodwill? Stay tuned!

Random conspiracy theory thoughts 😄 (none of this could be true, just trying to think through scenarios)...

What if that time BLAB and Adam were last together at Steakhouse 71, they actually did get told to eff off by Disney for being obnoxious? This could have caused a huge riff between them? Maybe Adam said screw Disney after that because he wasn't happy and decided to stop doing vlogs there... or because he was asked not to film there for X amount of time. He doesn't like being told what to do, so he wouldn't like it. Could explain his getting rid of all his Disney merch in CA? A few months ago he talked about his Starbucks mugs being something he enjoyed, now he wants them gone. ???

BLAB had a major cool off on the vlogs after that, even though they were staying several extra days, and then left WDW to go home. Adam made his video where he basically said too many vloggers are doing Disney and he thought it was oversaturated. BLAB got home and not long after decided to say adios to the apartment???

-Did he decide to ditch his DVC?
-Disney stock?
-If he and BLAB didn't have a falling out, could be why KT tagged him in an IG post yesterday (though his name didn't allow a tag link for some reason) with a group of their good friends.
-If he's there now, why are BLAB in Malibu and not helping him or seeing him?
-How does Natalie fit into all this?
-Why won't he drop off this shit at Goodwill? 😂

In that big pic, he seriously looks like he's taking his teenage daughter out for the day. 🤣
There's definitely some "divorced dad on his weekend with his troubled teenage daughter" vibes!

I realize that everyone alters their personality a bit (even unconsciously) when on camera, but her incessant giggling and little girl voice comes across as super phony and off-putting to me. I skipped a lot of videos with Natalie in the thumbnail because I found those aspects pretty grating, but some have mentioned that she put on less of an act in the San Francisco video, and I like SF so I may go back and give that video a chance.

OMG with these woe-is-me type of comments.

No one is stopping you from taking a day off. No one is also asking for these walk-and-talk / ride-and-talk sob-type stories about how overworked you are and that you're tired of the "repetition."

You literally go somewhere (normally fun, and / or low-key, and / or with very little people), film for a bit, eat something, and then edit and upload. Or you take the viewer to walk around Celebration or up to the local bike shop to buy a bike. It's not rocket science. It's not like you're working in the coal mine. And it's not like anyone is FORCING you to show us all that. YOU make your on schedule and YOU choose where you want to go and how much or how little you want to film. It's all on you.

So to semi-whine and act like the viewers are somehow holding him and his mental state "hostage" at his age in a line of work (if you can call it that) that HE chose where he has been rewarded financially in a manner that FAR exceeds his work / life skills (enough to buy DVC in full in a matter of months) is just 🤦‍♀️ to me.

Has anyone seen 2020planner? I hope everything is alright on her end
Hi all! Thanks for thinking of me!

I'm on here lurking. Since the start of the new year, I've been busy and have just grown so honestly tired of all these vloggers faces, I can't even bear to comment anymore. :ROFLMAO:

I may chime in here or there but probably will just lurk for the time being. So. Over. Them. All. :ROFLMAO:

He’s such a scatterbrain. How did he not see that this would happen? 🤦🏻‍♀️

I love how he almost sounds upset or mad at people for sending him SASEs. And that he is sooooOOOoooOOoo backlogged with having to stuff envelopes with stuff - and that it's taking up "most of his time" from a job where he does very little already... and now that he just HAD to reorder "thousands of stickers and buttons to fulfill the offer."

Oh, poor Adam.

We know you read here Adam, whatever "project" this is that you're doing now has been mostly garbage for months. Stop rambling about how much your going to change every week and just start doing it. Or you could just keep prolonging it and continue to feel repetitive - because it is 100% repetitive.

And STFU about having thick skin, you wouldn't have to ramble for 30 minutes every week if you actually did. If you feel pressure from viewers to make boring videos every day, a break from that will be good for your viewers too. And if they don't like that, well you have thick skin right? Idiot.

You are your own problem Adam, change it up to something you have fun making again, and stop making videos to explain that because the last 50 of them have been the complete opposite of fun.
