Sorry to read you’ve been poorly. I had something similar and it turned out to be hyplori bacteria which had turned to gastritis. Made me feel awful, the heartburn, acid and sickness was terrible, really ruined my life for two months. Hope you get to the bottom of it, keep on at the doctors.
Thanks, lovely. It's been rotten but getting my gp practice to take me seriously after a failed attempted a while back has been a relief. Just waiting to see if they can find what it is now.

Your symptoms are pretty much the same as mine, and my mother and I do think some sort of virus that turned into an infection is the most likely. At least, we're hoping. Whatever result will be easiest to treat! In the meantime, more crackers and porridge for me.

My partner and I hardly ever argue, but tonight we've had a flare up that has been simmering underneath for a while.
We have differing views on the Covid Vaccine. I don't really want to have to repeat my views on it, I've mentioned it on other threads. It is something that I neither wanted nor asked for. Because I work in the care industry, I was able to have the first part of the vaccine a few weeks ago. My partner who is over 60 and not in the best of health, is still waiting for his vaccine - it can't come soon enough for him.
What I am about to say, may anger quite a few people on Tattle, but before I was vaccinated with the Astra zeneca vaccine, I had a previous time and date to be vaccinated. So my partner and I travelled to the location, and I waited in the queue. However when I asked which vaccine was available, I turned it down. Luckily I was directed to a volunteer who made a new appointment which was the following week, at a different location. My vaccine wasn't wasted because, there were quite a few people behind me in the queue.
When I told my partner that I had turned down the vaccine, he was furious and even insulted me - something he has never done before. He didn't give me a chance to mention the new appointment. We did manage to overcome that blip though - or at least I thought we did.
Tonight we were watching one of Alex Bellend's videos on Youtube, he was ranting about the lockdown and vaccinations. My partner gave the video a thumbs down, before the video finished. I then switched it off. A little later on, we had quite a few cross words, and he left the room.
To be fair, my partner has been unwell today - myalgia pain, and it does effect his thought processes sometimes. But I feel quite upset over this, quite tearful. Like I have said, we rarely argue.
Can I ask please, how did you receive the nod to get the vaccine?
my cousin who is relatively young with no considerable health issues but is married to a residential carer has already had it, but only by “skipping the air”

She quite rightly so got the vaccine.......
BUT as she was given the information to register she received a code. She passed that code onto various people (including my cousin and others who wouldn’t be considered to vaccinate yet) and they were all given the vaccine.

Did you get a code?
Would you consider distributing it as far as your husband?
Do you know others who have taken advantage of this?

I know the “code” is fact - I’ve seen it for myself and was astounded.

We must work for the same company. When I have equipment issues I can’t fix, I turn it off and walk away. Whether I sat in front of it and swear at it, or sit in front of the tv watching MAFS Australia, the work wasn’t going to get done.

I chose to eat ice cream in front of the tv. I recommend.
Yep I turned it off too. My manager had to phone IT for me to verify I was a person 🙄 I have to go into the office tomorrow so they can take over my laptop as they can’t do it unless I’m hard wired to the internet. They said to plug it in, wait for an hour and then call them. What am I supposed to do for an hour in the office on my own?!?! Cannot be botheredddd.

Have decided to return to England from South Africa next weekend. I was hoping to stay here for a further 3 or 4 months, but due to severe lockdowns, curfews and the banning of buying, selling and drinking alcohol among many other things, I feel I might be better off returning to the UK despite England being under lockdown until at least March.

Inevitably, of course, all flights from SA to England have been suspended, which means I will have to make my way through a costly indirect route instead. But even this is only possible for British citizens (I have dual nationality), and that I fill in a "Passenger Locator Form" before flying out; and then I must self-isolate for 10 days after arriving at my home in England.

I will take a voluntary PCR test before flying out from Johannesburg because I want to be sure I am "clean" before entering the UK despite still having to SI. But the idea that I can enter the UK through an indirect flight rather than a direct flight is rather silly!

I'm a British citizen but can't enter the UK directly, but can do so indirectly! So why not apply the same rules for direct flights (Fill out a PLF and do a 10 day SI)?
Hope the trip back goes smoothly

This is just the lowest I’ve felt throughout this awful situation. Work is hard, I’m bored out of my mind. I’m normally very positive but I just keep reading only negative stuff about how long this is going to go on for on here. When I read the actual news I’m fine, it’s actually worse online 😩 Now I’ve just read a bunch of stuff about how we should not be planning to have kids and I’m just in some kind of spiral now that I shouldn’t plan a family because the rest of our lives are probably fucked or something.

Everything is just too much for me today. I’m just allowing myself a big cry. I feel pointless.
Sorry I did reply but referenced a post on the covid thread so my reply made no sense🤦‍♀️. Despite what I said on the other thread I really don’t think people shouldn’t have kids at the moment, it’s such a personal decision - it’s just easy for me to say I wouldn’t have them because in all honestly I don’t want a baby yet. If you really want to start a family I wouldn’t worry about the situation at the moment stopping you - we have no idea what is around the corner and I’m sure this time next year we will be in a much better place 🧡

I say ditch her! She doesn't sound much of a friend to be honest. Why should you pay all the time? Why should you offer advice if it just gets ignored? You sound like you've tried to be a really good friend but the friendship is not being reciprocated!
She is a good mate as in she’s helped me a lot over the last 4 years
its just everything else
covid has given me the perfect excuse not to meet up and when lockdown lifts I’ll be a lost busier and can’t meet up-it’s just a shame about the money
what really pissed me off is when I’d paid for 3 drinks each as she was skint
then she bought a new coat and another £10 on crap for the dog…

I know this sounds harsh but that doesn’t sound like a friendship. She is taking advantage of your kindness! It really annoys me when people complain about having no money/ hours being cut due to covid and the likes but yet spend the money they do have on absolute dung lol
Yep-that’s her
the dog does not need a £2 milkshake every single day then she comes running to me cos she hasn’t paid her gas bill as she can’t afford it
i am taking a step back-I can’t afford her caffeine bill

I’m on a funded PhD stipend that gets paid every 3 month so I have to budget. My credit card bill is due on Monday and I’m not getting paid til a week Friday. Only found this out by emailing the finance team at my university. I’m just stressed about money as I had an unexpected dental drama last week which cost £££ and I’m slowly running out of money. I’m lucky I can dip into some savings, but I’ve given myself a migraine worrying about money.

I know I’m in a lucky position to get funding for a PhD as many don’t.
Does your uni have a hardship fund you could apply to?

Changed my car insurance at the start of the year as my renewal was almost 100 more when ive had no claims ever. Got an email from my new insurance provider saying Hastings says I made a claim a few years ago. My car had been parked up and hit by an unknown car, it was my wheel that was damaged so I changed it myself. When I reported it I was told to let my insurance provider know as a courtesy, so i did that. each year since then I have to have this conversation with them that It wasnt a claim but a courtesy call and they agree that anything like that is worth them knowing about. So my new insurance has it in their system that I lied and made a claim and have told me my policy will be over 100 more....more than my original renewal with Hastings!. Contacted Hastings who sent me an email saying the claim was cancelled and it wont affect my no claims etc. I sent that to my new provider who have sent me my new quote over 100 more. I emailed them right back asking why its so high when I have forwarded them my email but no reply. I'm at work so cant call. So i have that to look forward to tomorrow, it gives me so much anxiety part of me wants to just say sod it and pay it.

Got another one too, just as I was leaving for work. Got a letter from a finance company regarding me oweing hsbc over 3k. I havent been with HSBC for over 12 years, I was due PPI back fromt hem which i got and they sent me a letter with the check saying they have taken the amount I owed them out of it. So every year once or twice a year for a few weeks I will get an influx of letters from different debt collectors saying HSBC has handed my debt over and I spend hours on the phone telling them I dont owe HSBC anything and send them a copy of my letter. Just before xmas another company sent one and afain I told them its been over 12 years, this so called debt isnt even on my credit report and i have a letter saying they have taken what they owed before they paid my ppi. Just before xmas I get a letter from HSBC saying sorry and heres a cheque for £25....then today another letter from a debt collector. Its almost laughable at this point.
Just register this with the financial ombudsmen and they will take it from there for you. Hope this helps

Hmmm I kind of sympathise with your husband here - he has said he’s not ready. Would you want him to feel rushed into having a baby and then possibly resent the child?
No of course not and I’m not going to pressure him into it. The conversation was short, it was pretty much me saying “I need to stop taking the pill because of the issue it’s causing, what do you think” and he said “it’s your decision as it’s your body, but we have to use condoms.”. I haven’t even told him just how much I want a baby because there’s no point, I know how he feels.
I guess I’m just frustrated because I’ve been feeling like this for nearly a year now and realistically it’s still going to be another 18 months-2 years before we have a deposit to buy somewhere.

So, on and off since mid Jan or so I've been very poorly with a Mysterious Illness. At first it kept going away and coming back, now I've been consistently ill for about three weeks barely able to eat much without vomiting/other icky stuff. I've lost about a stone, which sounds great but it's scary to lose weight only because you are underfed and weak.

At the point now where my local GP surgery has agreed to run some tests so I'm really hoping that within a couple of weeks I'll at least know what's wrong and can move forward somehow from there.

In the meantime I've felt extremely sorry for myself indeed, stuck living on white bread/crackers/special K cereal and porridge and not really anything else much at all.

Whatever I turn out to have I hope none of you guys get it, it's the most ill I've ever been in my 37 years.

I didn not get a nod to receive a vaccine, I had to arrange it myself. The care home that I work in, issued me with a letter confirming that I worked there.

Adverts about the new Jimmy Savile documentary on YouTube and popping up on news sites

Makes me shudder...is there a way to advertise it without featuring his face or him talking?
Sadly not. He was so distinctive that anything in the media about him is bound to feature his image.

The fact my other half forgot today was a bank holiday so booked work in. He's not going to be home til gone 7, working tomorrow and Easter Monday (he forgot that was a bank holiday too). I'm grateful he's busy as he runs his own business but it would have been nice to enjoy some time together
I only knew it was Easter LAST WEEK, I really had no idea, I can't even believe it's April already.

I’ve posted on here before about really wanting a baby but my husband not wanting to do so until we have bought a house.
Im sorry to have to post again, but I have to let it out somewhere.
The feeling has got even stronger since, and I decided to gently broach the subject this week and started the conversation by telling him I needed to come off of my pill due to side effects (which is true) and was planning to take it from there. Well he made it clear almost immediately that he was obviously fine with me stopping the pill as it’s my body, but we have to use condoms. In the end I didn’t bother trying to take it any further because I knew I was going to get upset.

I’m trying so hard to distract myself and focus on saving the money we need for a deposit ,but I can’t stop thinking about it. I guess the only positive is that I’ll have been off hormonal birth control for a long time by the time we eventually have bought a house so my cycles will be back to normal...

oh and apparently it’s my responsibility to make sure we have condoms:rolleyes:

Oh no my MIL is a wanker 😂 my fella rang her and told her we had been arguing today. So a couple hours after when we were talking again but still awkward she texts him saying "I want to see my grandson. Let me facetime" like leave us alone for one day!! Shes facetimes twice a day everyday surely you can piss off for one day
She sounds like as big a nightmare as mine. How close by is she? Mine is a 5 minute drive. You can guess where my husband is right now
