All I can think of is that when their respective kids are with their respective co-parent, they could have had weekend breaks, amazing meals out, lie-ins… instead they chose to have a newborn baby. It baffles me. No way this was planned (maybe by her, not by him).

The most intelligent person I have ever met is my friends husband. He’s a Professor of some science I can’t pronounce let alone spell, works for bloody NASA and honestly, he’s so unassuming with his strong Black Country accent and no ego that people often think he’s taking the piss when they ask what he does. we will never know. But I have been a midwife for many years and it is extremely rare for PPP to develop months and months after the baby is born, it is usually an acute medical emergency that occurs in the first few days/early weeks. and I don’t know a single woman who has developed PPP who hasn’t had to be admitted to a mother and baby unit or psychiatric ward. So personally I think it was total bullshit.

That story today about the children arguing. Of course they are, Anna. You've made each of your two eldest compete with FOUR other children for your time and love. And they don't even have their Dad while they are with you, so just one parent. How bloody selfish, see it for what it is.

I’d have thought one thing you learn after the first baby is just how pointless a ‘finished’ nursery is, especially if you are so terrified about the wellbeing of your baby. My friend refused to buy anything but the absolute basics for her baby as she thought anything more elaborate was inviting bad luck. Definitely no nursery rugs. Most babies go nowhere near ‘their’ room for months.

I’ve met a few politicians in my time and while it’s broadly true to say woman have a better understanding of the struggle for work/life balance, sex is too broad a measure to really capture the opinions and priorities of MPs. There are plenty of female MPs who take a very Thatcherite approach to things, and there are male MPs who are engaged in day to day child rearing and whose partners have careers they try to support. Just electing more female MPs in itself is no guarantee of more progressive politics.

I mean, if she really is driving three hours across the fucking country while her insides are held in with stitches then that is awful. And he’s a prick for letting her. She must be in agony.
