I’m sorry to hear about your son having a difficult time and I hope he is doing much better now but do you mind if I ask you what reason do you think you were left waiting for so long ?
I can tell you with 100% absolute certainty that you were waiting because the doctors and nurses were busy dealing with other children at that time . I can assure you that doctors and nurses were not sitting around chatting or drinking tea while your child or any child sat waiting in pain . To say the hospital is a joke is very disrespectful to the hard working doctors and nurses and staff that work there and that are doing their absolute best with the resources they have available to them at that time . If anyone is to be blamed here maybe direct it towards the government and HSE who desperately need to employee thousands more nurses and consultants to ease the pressures in our hospital system especially the children’s hospitals . I apologise for getting defensive but my brother works in temple street and I can promise you that every doctor and every nurse and every staff member there is ALWAYS giving 110% , they are worked to the bone and seriously undervalued and overworked and this stage they are honestly at the brink of exhaustion . I’m sure I speak for every doctor and nurse and hospital staff in the country when I made that last statement , also while I’m on the subject of exhaustion and undervalued it’s not just healthcare workers but all the fabulous staff in shops , supermarkets , chemists etc everyone of us has played our part over the last year or so , and when I see people criticise it drives me mad Rant over and my apologies for the rant and for being defensive xx

So here's my two cents on it. If you have genuine reasons and are genuinely concerned about taking the vaccine and have done extensive fact based research and weighed up the pros and cons for yourself on why you should/shouldn't take it then fair enough. I don't agree with your decision but I do respect it.

However, what I cannot respect or tolerate is the likes of Nikki who have little to no knowledge of biology and by that I mean how viruses actually work,how rapidly they mutate and evolve to survive, how immunity works, the technology used in the manufacture of this vaccine , the hours.of evidence based , fact checked research that has to go into manufacturing a vaccine by people who have studied masters and pHDs not some muppet with an Instagram following who has done her ReSErch on Facebook , quoting some gobshite in the States that probably was taught Creationsim instead of Evolution (No offense to any Americans on this thread btw)

What exactly does she suggest we do? In order to pump money into the health care system but where does the money come from? Taxation. And who gets taxed ...PAYE workers. So while Nikki may escape from increased Taxation as a business owner it then means her target market and her customer base have limited disposable income and her business collapses and so the cycle continues. Its easy to sit at home and preach about what should happen and how to fix things but then everything is easy when you only see the little picture and not all the other little pictures that make up the bigger picture.

I'm fully vaccinated and, no, I don't know what's in it - neither this vaccine, the ones I had as a child, nor in the Big Mac, or hot dogs, or other treatments…whether it's for cancer, AIDS, the one for polyarthritis, or vaccines for infants or children.
I also don't know what's in Ibuprofen, Paracetamol, or other meds, it just cures my headaches & my pains.
I don't know what's in the ink for tattoos, vaping, Botox and fillers, or every ingredient in my soap or shampoo or even deodorants. I don’t know the long term effect of mobile phone use or whether or not that restaurant I just ate at REALLY used clean foods and washed their hands.
In short ...
There's a lot of things I don't know and never will…
I just know one thing: life is short, very short, and I still want to do something other than just going to work every day or staying locked in my home. I still want to travel and hug people without fear and find a little feeling of life "before".
As a child and as an adult I've been vaccinated for mumps, measles, polio, chickenpox, and quite a few others; my parents and I trusted the science and never had to suffer through or transmit any of the said diseases and,
I'm vaccinated, not to please the government but:
* To not die from Covid-19.
* To NOT clutter a hospital bed if I get sick.
* To hug my loved ones
* To Not have to do PCR or antigenic tests to go to a restaurant, go on holidays and many more things to come ...
* To live my life.
* To see and hug my family and friends
* For Covid-19 to be an old memory.
* To protect us.

Nikki is a dickie, thinks vaccine makes you sickie, can’t ‘wait’ to be an aunt, only eats a plant.

I honestly can't get over the kindness that has been shown over the post I wrote about my little girls communion 🥹 I was just having a shit day & I vented because I'm just so sick of these people & their flash parties lifestyles etc & money seems to be no issue for them when there are genuine people struggling EVERY DAY to provide for their children!

Thanks to the ladies that offered to send me things for the communion, I'm honestly in tears at the generosity ye have shown but I could never accept anything for free, but please know that I am genuinely so blown away that ye would even offer to do that!

I will pull it out of the bag on June 9th & my little girl will have the best day, with out a big fuss but surrounded by pure love & a momma that couldn't be prouder

All patients are seen in the level of urgency. It's shit waiting around for ages but at the end of the day you're only left waiting because there is more seriously ill kids there. We have been regulars for years and the only time we were left waiting when we felt we should have been seen faster was because they were fighting to save a child's life in resus. That child unfortunately didn't make it, only 2 days before Christmas too. Those doctors and nurses went back to then helping all the other sick kids.
Just something to bear in mind when in A&E. I'll never forget the sound of that poor mothers screams, it will be permanently in my brain I'd say

Oh my god I litrally feel like banging my head against the wall every time I see a thicko like Nikki say something along the lines of "what's the point of the vaccine of it still spreads" because you dopey brussel sprout, it stops you getting very ill and ending up in ICU. Sure, not everyone is going to get that full protection but Jesus Christ science can only do so much in such a short time!!

I know of a nursing home recently in the south east, 90% of their residents got Covid from a worker. ALL of them recovered well within 3 weeks, not 1 passed away. Now riddle me this, how many of them would have passed had it been this time last year? guarantee nearly all of them. That is my proof the vaccine is working!

Because people like Nikki are blocking up the system. I think saying it is “a joke of a hospital” is very disrespectful to the dedicated staff who work there and the patients who attend - it is a hospital with a very good track record and people who attend regularly with very sick kids sing it’s praises. People who just occasionally attend ED are usually the ones who moan.

What is the alternative? Herd immunity will only be obtained through vaccination.
Why would governments deliberately cripple the economy in order to control us? What is the end game?
In relation to the legislation brought in last night, I believe it's unconstitutional. There is a middle ground. I think people should get vaccinated unless they have a medical reason not to but I believe ultimately it is people's choice.
If unvaccinated people want to eat indoors and risk catching covid then I think they should be let and that any hospitality workers who aren't vaccinated be offered the vaccine immediately.
There is no need to talk down to people, to criticise, belittle. Your only massaging your own ego. Not helping the situation in any way. People like Nikki and AOL are exactly why people dismiss legitimate vaccine concerns. They do the cause no favours

My heart breaks for their dad, their last baby turned 18 and graduated school in the same week, so many important milestones without his wife being there. It must be so bitter sweet. You can always see how crushed he is she can't be here and how much he loves his daughters.

I have never commented here before but I have a teenage with scoliosis who is treated in temple street. I also live in around the same area as you owning a house not far from yours and I have two businesses. Our paths have crossed, similar lifestyle etc. But I am shocked to see how you speak about the hospital treating your son the other night. No point in trying to say "you didn't mean it " or "we misunderstood" we didn't! The look on your face says it all, pure disgust! How many pictures have been sent to you of little girls in a hospital bed in temple St with one of your bows on making them feel better? And then you turn around and say something like that? It's an amazing hospital and by the way what are you going to do when there is only one hospital for you to bring sonny too when they centralise the children's hospital to the location is St James? So was I and thousands of others Nikki when peoples loved ones died alone because of covid because arseholes like you who CAN wear masks but selfishly choose not to and arseholes like you who CAN get vaccinated and have access to information to make an informed choice but chose to listen to misinformation. We were all robbed. We can’t cure cancer but we can slow to spread and mutation of covid if we all work together
