I have a friend who has a lifetime ban from Lidl.
In the 90s he wrote a cheque (it was a long time ago...) and the checkout person thought the signature didn't match. He offered to do it again and to show his cheque guarantee card(again, this was a looooong time ago) but the staff member pressed an alarm and other staff appeared out of nowhere and took him to the office to take his photo to put on a nationwide list.
He was livid and fuming.
We, his dear friends, thought it was absolutely fucking hilarious. No clue if he is still actually banned but he tried to make everyone boycott Lidl so being supportive we have spent the last 25 years buying all of his Christmas and birthday presents from Lidl. Once smart phones and then selfies were invented 'some of us' have taken photos and turned into greeting cards for him.
Like 'yer daw sells Avon' we use 'yer banned from Lidl' as an insult since 1998.

Fuck off. I really don't care if someone's shitting all their money away on fancy cheese, wine and dresses (mention no names: me), just stop taking other people's cash to do it and perhaps prioritise your kids?

I've never had any financial help from anyone in my life, and as such I haven't had children, although I'd like them, because I never thought I'd be in a financial position to support them. Over the last few years I've had no choice but to work my way through gradually better jobs, so now I earn decent money, but I'm somehow privileged compared to dickheads like this?

No shade on people who struggle financially and have kids - lots of people out there doing an amazing job with very little in really trying times, and they deserve support. It's this expectation that people like us owe tin rattlers like her something when, the only reason I have more money than her is precisely because I've never expected that anyone else would fund my life.

I had an abusive dickhead ex who left me in shit loads of debt too. £25k that I never thought I'd dig myself out of, but I made the last payment last month and not a go fund me in sight. Anyway I'm just bragging now because I'm actually really chuffed that I did that on my own and have a fresh start.

I grew up poor and on benefits, as I know from the JM threads many of us here did. Nobody here hates the poor - grifters like this end up on our radar for the opposite reasons, because we do give a shit about struggling people.

What I do hate is narcissistic, indolent, malingering drama vultures who are invariably taking from people worse off than themselves while contributing zero to society. They always show their true colours by turning into screeching bullies with a list of ailments and victimhood identities longer than my arm the second anyone questions them.

It's also clear that anyone capable of tweeting 24/7 could probably do the same sort of work a lot of us do, which is working from home looking at a screen all day. But that would involve following instructions, receiving criticism with grace and being the sort of person other people can tolerate, which I guess she lacks, but I'm not convinced it constitutes a disability.

While I'm on one, I'll also add that it's impossible to be a present parent when you spend 15 hours a day calling strangers on the internet cunts because you showed them a video of you bullying a cashier.

Some bullet points for the uninitiated (and for Google when/if curious people stumble in here).

Multiple accounts - gets suspended and banned for begging and for being foul/abusive.

Works the “Tories are bastards” theme a lot as well as actively doing Follow Back Fridays etc to build her profile and get fresh meat for Buy Me A Coffee fivers.

ALWAYS on the breadline, ALWAYS. Gets paid and a week later is begging again.

Has white goods break down almost weekly. Her eldest kid lives with them and she is always moaning about him causing problems and breaking things as well as always owing her money for “board”.

Constantly moans about things like her car needing MOT/tyres or some other thing - no actual evidence of owning one - taxies everywhere.

Loads of health issues - none of them documented. Goes on about applying for her kids disability all the time - never does.

Wasted so much money on tat - has rent arrears.

Caught out on lies so just rants and swears then blocks.

Actively tweets at people asking for money/asking for re-tweets.

Has in the past interacted a few times with RSM and Jack Monroe and Bex - hence on our radar. Monroe did a rare donation/retweet for her uniform beg either last year or early this year.

Goes on and on about her degree and Masters - can barely string a tweet together.

Pretends to be estranged from all family - just got back from visiting family on holiday in term time and was moaning she can’t afford to pay the school fines.

Kids have appalling attendance records but she is complaining any plan put in place discriminates against them because one of them sleeps a lot and needs private melatonin prescriptions.

She also buys private prescriptions for her alleged thyroid issues - and claims to have the worlds longest most painful periods ever so is disabled. This is why the live off takeaways. Because she is too ill to cook.

There is so much more but this is a good starter.

As a lifelong Labour voter (and party member) and trade union member here, Sarah, you don't threaten the Tory narrative that the unemployed are lazy scroungers and single mothers are a financial burden on the country, you fucking EMBODY IT.

Nobody is doing more to further the Tory narrative than you are.

I think my favourite thing about Tattle is hearing people say it's full of horrible bullies, then you come here and find some really clever, warm, hilarious and supportive people. I've had a shit year (decade? Life? 😂) and the JM threads have kept me sane and made me laugh and everyone has been really kind.

If Tattle single you out, there's a strong chance it's because you're an arsehole.

I really think in this digital age filming someone without consent should be a criminal offence. Its an absolute sickness how quickly ppl whip out their busy little iPhones to proudly record some humiliation. Same goes for all the 'hilarious' memes of ppl clearly ill with drug/alcohol or mental health problems being put online to be laughed at. It's the modern day Victorian freak show. The same goes for the revolting speed with which ppl tweet pics of victims of war. You got the parents consent to preserve their child's suffering forever online? And those who object are derided as being more offended by the image than the violence. Get to fuck. You don't get to trigger ppl all day who are going through god knows what of their own. I honestly don't think a lot of it is even motivated by horror. I think a lot of them get a secret little kick out of it. They're the creepy kid from school who'd sidle up to you whispering 'wanna see something gross'.

If that was my daughter being intimidated and hassled at work for anyone to click on I would be heartbroken. She should have been escorted out by security straight away. Companies have a duty of care to protect staff in the workplace. The customer is not always right.

I hope we get a wiki for Sarah soon. She came onto my/many others’ radar last year when she was crowdfunding for her kids school uniforms - she needed around 1k for school uniforms and travel passes for a brand new school. Only they didn’t end up going there and she had the money. Jack Monroe gave her like £78 or something.

it then came to members of the canal’s attention that Sarah would crowdfund very regularly, for things such as: prescriptions, laptops so she could home school, a flight for her son’s girlfriend who was being deported, a new cooker, a fence because hers blew down, birthday pressies for her twin sons, ad infinitum.

since learning of this tattle page, Sarah has deleted all her crowdfund pages. We’re not sure why she done this as they’re all totally genuine and she was entirely justified in all of those occasions.

she’s also had coffee/kofi things ongoing which have raised her thousands. At least one person donating to her grift is an ESA claimant.

Sarah is not without her problems. She broke her ankle causing her to have to LEARN HOW TO WALK AGAIN. She also had to, at this time, spend at least £700 of other people’s money on taxis.
In addition, she has menstrual periods which mean she’s often unable to cook and has to order takeaway food on the regular.

most recently there was an incident in Aldi where she held up the queue by transferring money to her bank account from another place. (We aren’t sure where as she said she only has one account.) this caused the checkout operator to be disgruntled; Sarah then apologised like any reasonable person would kicked off, for no good reason and filmed the altercation without adding any context. This video now has over 1m views on Twitter and Aldi have stood by their staff member and banned Sarah from the shop.

dodgy Depher has given money to her at least twice that we can see, meaning he isn’t great at due diligence. Sarah hoped The Aldi Incident would have been a nice little earner for her, but it took a wrong turn like Jack Monroe’s HH2, and brought the grift to a larger audience.
The result of this is Sarah is leaving Twitter, apart from when she’s not. She tweets and retweets herself around 200x per day. No, seriously, she does.
This whole thread has been a blast. It’s like thread 31 and it’s only the first one. Grab a cuppa and get settled in.

Tattle is the opposite of trolling. It directs interaction firmly away from controversial online accounts who either indulge in the underhand tactics of paid influencer shilling or monetise their lives (and crucially their kids lives who cannot consent) via a perma-beg.

It uses only what the subject has put out in the public domain. Oversharing online and expecting only positive commentary is bizarrely naive. If you are using minors as props and puppets on a monetised account you will get pushback. If you don't want to hear anyone's opinion on sensitive subjects like your parenting or money management - don't talk about them! You can't run with the hare and hunt with the hound. If your kids and empty purse are invoked 7 times a day to urge observers to dig deep, that's gonna boomerang back on you cos that stuff is either on the record or it's not. You don't get to control others responses to intensely personal stuff you share or insist on an interpretation favourable to you. Especially if your stories are based on emotive lies - like medical issues and special needs that you or yours haven’t even been diagnosed with. A monetised account will always invite scrutiny in a COL crisis so any tall tales better add up.

If you are gonna scream an shout about strong language and insults, don't use them towards anyone else. Speech has to be legal, not nice. If you went viral online for filming someone without consent, badgering and humiliating them and calling for them to be sacked, it would suggest you wouldn’t be too delicate to hear feedback about your unrepentant bullying behaviour. Here's the chaser - no one from here has approached you with it anyway. It stays on tattle.

There's a sense of community and responsibility here. We correct each other, respectfully disagree, and apologise if we said something that hurt other posters. A thread is never only about it's subject. They meander everywhere. I've had some of the most interesting convos I've ever had here on the Main Character syndrome fostered by SM and what it does to a persons ego and the overall culture when lives become a performance. Whether it's a positive use of time is another argument. Is FB and twitter? Is mindless TV? Twitter is far more inflammatory in my experience.

People object to Tattle for the same age old reasons they've always objected to women talking- we're not being 'nice', we should be doing something else with our time, we're not coddling others with the happy clappy supportive cheerleading still demanded from us. Critical thinking and strong opinion is still interpreted as a subversive and dangerous thing when it comes from women.

Her behaviour online is genuinely disturbing for a mature woman. Hope she deletes the aldi video, it still being out there doesn't demonstrate any of the good faith she demands from everyone else. If she doesn't stop posting all her kids business then I hope she stays locked so the harm is minimised and I hope she learns to enjoy those lovely boys instead of blagging and begging and beefing all day. Over an out.
