I work In the cakes and bakes industry and this will snowball. Just today my friend, another cake owner said she’d had Hamleys on her back wanting a showstopper in return for exposure. Bloody HAMLEYS.
A multi million ££ world famous business and they won’t fork out for a cake. Another friend of mine was approached by ITV for The Voice last year wanting cakes and bakes for their wrap party. She outed them straight away and rightly so.

Influencers have had their time. Everyone’s waking up to their bullshit and influenced we are no more. Can’t bloody stand them!

Pisses me off when people say exposure can help a business. In a cost of living crisis no one is forking out right now!! It’ll do Jack shit, if not a couple extra orders which isn’t life changing

obviously had a bit of backlash their way since "Aunty Cath"'s little video this morning. Bet they wish they'd never heard of her now.

Meanwhile "cake lady" continues to do the right thing, even going so far as to say "thanks to everyone now trying to order cakes from us, but we're just a small local company, please go support a small business local to you instead", which I think is a fantastic sentiment.

I also find it a blatant lie that the PR company said they were always going to cover the bakery's costs....er so why didn't you say that in your original email?!

I run a small business and we're asked all the time for freebies for auctions/fundraisers and the local (very expensive to attend) private schools are the worst offenders. I don't care if your celeb parents share it on Instasham thanks, all that attracts is more grifters looking for freebies too as they know this person had one
