Long post incoming........
Firstly I want to say I am not a troll. Nor do I condone trolling. I have just made this account so I could post this comment. I thought I'd post it here because alot of comments appear to be getting deleted on instagram.
I think what happened tonight was absolutely appalling. I think what he has done over the past week is honestly worse than trolling. You know that old saying "2 wrongs do not make a right", well I am a firm believer in that. From the get go, I do not agree with what he is doing. The threatening language (tick tock tick tock), the threatening to "out" people, I think its awful. Can I add, I am fully in support to putting an end to online trolling. If someone is trolling someone's child directly, their parents or someone with cancer, I am sorry but that it not acceptable full stop! If someone is having a go at peoples behaviour on social media in terms of lack of honesty, clarity or what they wear, yeah I don't think that's trolling. Even if someone is commenting on someone's appearance, yes its not a nice thing to do but its hardly trolling. It has been going on for years, both in the media and in the real world. I am sure we have all had someone say something nasty about the way we look, big deal, that's life and you are not going to please everyone.
Now what I cannot support is the PUBLIC shaming and on a large social media platform to try and destroy that person. How is that any different to what trolls do? It's just as bad if not WORSE, because those people are choosing not to live their lives in the public eye. And NO I am not saying that just because someone is in the public eye, they deserve to be trolled. Not at all! But unfortunately, when you put yourself out there to a large following, you are going to attract criticism! That is life and not everyone is going to love everything about you! What astounds me is that people think its acceptable to behave on social media the way they have tonight, sending direct messages and threats to someone AND their supposed employer. And with what evidence exactly? If everything that has been said tonight cannot be backed up WITH SOLID proof, that is beyond damaging. To think people are messaging MIND about this, it sickens me.
I think what Andy is trying to do IN THEORY, is not a bad thing. I think the intentions are good, beneath all the insta troll busters exterior. The idea of moderating online trolling i support, to be honest some of the stuff I've read online is awful and I am not talking about on this site! If he wants to start a petition, or go through the correct proper channels to change something about online trolling, I will support that all day long. What I will not support, is him acting like a bully on social media. I would just like to add, I had never heard of Andy Malone until a week ago. I am English so I only found him when English influencers started sharing the detechtives page. I had also never heard of this forum, and only ended up here because of the troll busters saga ironically!
Moving forward, I think he needs to stop with this act on social media. It is potentially very dangerous, cruel and weak in terms of verification. Nothing has been verified and that's awful for any party which has been named. Also, he owns his own company as far as I can see? How is it professional for someone in his position to behave like that? He would lose all credibility surely, isn't it all potentially damaging to his entire reputation? Because quite frankly he is coming across as a bully and worse than the trolls in my opinion.

Genuine question, but why does Andy and co seem to think that the mental health of influencers matters above the mental health of anyone else?

Bit of a long story but going back a few years to 2013 when instagram was really getting big, I had just finished uni and moved into my own place and had gone from having no living expenses and being given a grand 3x a year to use basically for clothes and going out by the student finance people to being on a minimum wage job doing admin in a call centre, 80% of my small wage going on paying for my apartment and struggling some months to even put £20 on the gas card. I had put on some weight from my size 8 uni body and had a very rocky relationship with my partner at the time who was doing his joinery apprenticeship so had even less money than me.

So a 22 year old girl, not even earning enough to heat my 1 bed ex council flat properly, watching my relationship go more and more down the pan every day, and having a changing body shape with cellulite etc, and so already feeling like the biggest failure known to man, to then add influencers into the mix with all their "wealth" showing off their fancy homes, flash cars and expensive holidays, perfect relationships, perfect bodys, as a naive 22 year old I just took it all at face value believing it to be real, and at times I did doubt if it was even worth me being here. At this time, influencers 100% caused me to feel worse than I needed to.

Things are thankfully much better for me career wise now and obviously now I am 30, I know that so much of what you see on instagram is fake as fuck, so for example, luxury stays at the burj al arab might in fact be financed by an escorting trip, the "high end car" that you see an influencer driving and pretending is brand new might actually be 10 years old but but the influencer never shows the reg plate and is probably financed up to their eyeballs, that "perfect body" is photoshopped to high heaven etc etc....but unfortunately 22 year olds of today might not know that, just as I didn't, and so influencers continue to make young people working normal jobs and living within their means feel like they're worthless, affecting their mental health for what?! A few kiss arse comments from strangers on Instagram?!

If anything, I'd say Tattle improves mental health for the majority -not saying some influencers aren't well off, but others do exaggerate things and there so much smoke and mirrors - because it just confirm exactly how much deception there is with influencers and how much of what is shown isnt true.

I got a warning at the time for mentioning who it was so I'm not taking the risk of getting banned from the site.
But yes, as someone already mentioned that influencers thread even got locked so we could no longer speak about it.
But my sisters said that it's best to keep it in the closet until justice is served

Almost every other industry has a regulatory body to oversee fair and best practise. If I see a Rimmel foundation advertised on TV I’ll see a disclaimer on the bottom of the screen informing me that the image may be enhanced which allows me to make an informed decision as a consumer.
If I see an influencer advertising the same foundation on Instagram chances are that they’ll have a filter on and they’re being paid to tell me the product is fantastic.They might even shell out a 10% discount code to encourage me to part with my money.Quite a few of them won’t disclose that they have a filter on enhancing the appearance of their skin and exaggerating the performance of the foundation. They might not even bother to inform people they’re being paid to promote the product or do it in a very underhand way like posting #ad in tiny white text against an all white background.
It’s false advertising plain and simple and in any other circumstances it wouldn’t be allowed. Unless you turn a blind eye and tell them how wonderful they are you deserve to be humiliated on social media or lose your job that’ll teach the “trolls”.

It’s amazing to me that hotels and restaurants haven’t tried to shut down Tripadvisor yet. How dare people have an opinion and have the audacity to post it on the internet?!

He's not the victim in this. He chose of his own free will to post about 40 times knock knock, tick tock I'm coming for you be scared threatening messages. Then put out a video that chucks mental health charities and individuals under the bus with nothing to back up the claims. He deserves to deal with the consequences of his own actions.

He's been silent since and not even done anything to prevent people from trolling mental health charities. He's shown no remorse just hid like a coward, and he's the one that's the first to bully other people if they acted the same way.
