I know she’s in a relationship but I still can’t believe she’s in an adult relationship it’s crazy cause she’s so immature she acts like she’s 13 or younger so I wonder is her relationship actually mature or not because the way she behaves in videos her mindset and immaturity makes me think does she even know how to talk like an adult , understand mature topics and make adult decisions? Not saying she can’t ever make mistakes in life and I’m not saying she shouldn’t be in a relationship because if anything I’m glad she has a life outside of her family with other friend because it’s not healthy to be stuck in a bubble with her controlling family all the time but she seems so out of touch to reality that it makes me wonder how does she even relate to other people or does she act like a completely different person when she’s not with her family like putting on an act to fit in? she confuses me one minute she’s throwing a temper tantrum not acting like a 19 year old and next minute she’s trying to act older.

They suggest in their homeschooling video that children who go to school are not allowed to read their own books or have outside interests as they suggest the fact they home school Koa is the only way he is allowed to look at a book about cars!

I've done work placement in schools and the kids are allowed to choose their own reading books to take home. What a load of 💩

This is ridiculous! I was a free reader for most of primary school so chose whatever books I wanted to read. Stage books are there to ensure children are learning to comprehend what they are reading as well as actually learning to read stuff. Even when I had to do the stage books to prove my reading level was were it was at the start of every year, there was choice in which books I chose. After a certain stage you could pick from both non-fiction and fiction books about all sorts of topics (including cars, animals, sports, etc.).

And most children have interests outside of what they learn in school whether that be through extra curricular activities or some other way. Or they learn about something in school that they may never otherwise been exposed to and get interested in that!

They seem to homeschool their children because they don't want them to form their own opinions on the world and want to feed into stereotypes (Koa reading books about cars whilst being called king and boy boy if they still do that 🙃).

Yes Mia has only been able to take up rock climbing and art because of home schooling 🥴💀

Sienna must be so bored being stuck in with a toddler and 5 year old everyday. No mention of socialising with other homeschooled kids around her age

I don’t agree with homeschooling anyway but especially when it’s done so poorly.
It’s all well and good Sienna doing her workbooks but she has no one to actually correct the work and explain things to her, she’s not actually learning much!!!

They have such a warped view of traditional school too

Watching their homeschooling video, and it is nice to see them out in nature learning etc but the way they're dressed versus how they speak is worlds around.

I wonder who’s benefit the homeschooling video is for because there’s absolutely no way on earth that that is what their typical day looks like 😂 what a load of rubbish!

Agreed… complete lies.

I’m glad she’s at least signed them up to a tutor but let’s be real, anyone can work at Kumon. My mate worked there as a tutor when she was fresh out of school, no A levels or anything!

Who else would be put off their porridge with all that added stuff? What happened to a basic porridge and fruit? She thinks it’s impressive that the kids know what phosphorus is etc but come on, ain’t nobody wanting that sh!t in their breakfast fgs.

I know it’s important they take supplements but they’re mixing so many random chemicals in with their foods. Just makes it even more unnatural, if anything!

Kumon got mentioned so often I wouldn’t be surprised if it was actually an ad/sponsored vid!

When they took them on an outing to the stately home and garden (something they state only homeschholed children do as regular schools never have outings or allow children to do their own things outside school), Sienna tried to stroke a bee. Clearly homeschooling doesn't include teaching them about dangers.

A quick Google search suggests that Kumon is a throwing service that complements worldwide classroom curriculums rather than the sole source of learning for a child.

The amount of trips and experiences offered in many schools these days is massive! You often have residentials where they'll do kayaking/abseiling/canoeing/hiking/etc., trips to farms, trips to museums, stately homes...the list goes on. Also, experiencing these trips with their peers is so beneficial when possible (I get that they can be expensive).

They spout so much bs it's unreal

How can children possibly have more opportunities by being exposed to LESS subjects? They are acting as though: 1) it’s always been child led and 2) children are capable of understanding the world enough to choose.

I’d argue it is not child led because for example, S never got the opportunity to excel in science even though she used to be super passionate about that. By not offering them subjects that other kids learn in school, they are closing off their minds to whole worlds of learning. I’m not saying the British curriculum is perfect and a solid model, but it does offer a diverse range of learning opportunities, covering many interest areas for all different kinds of children. So what are they on about?

Meanwhile, their reception aged child still isn’t being encouraged to learn phonics?? 🤔

Mia is so conditioned to believe she had it great that she doesn’t realise how much she missed out on. Many other young people who are schooled in the traditional way also participate in many hobbies but they still have the opportunity to learn, develop and grow in many other areas too.

Again, I have nothing against homeschooling. Truly. Just don’t go around justifying why you do such a bad job at it.

Until they sit one of their kids through an actual GCSE and allow them the opportunity to gain qualifications (which is totally possible with homeschooling), I will never be convinced they are good at homeschooling.

My child is schooled through our education system and we support his learning at home. He has access to all the books he wants in the varying things he is interested in. He loves crafts and building with Lego so we do alot of that in our spare time at home, he has other hobbies and we indulge each and every one. With the resources and money they have, surely the kids could do combi learning and have a couple of days a week in school, for the socialisation aspect of growing up, alongside the core subjects they need to be functioning adults. I guess you can't put a child who's at school to work tho!

They have it local to me and it’s just a tutoring programme to give kids some extra help with maths and English. Don’t think it intends to replace education

If their argument is that normal schooling isn't suitable as they want their children to have total.freedom.to.learn what they want when they want, imagine the nightmare they will.be as adults. Totally self obsessed and incapable of being able to function in a world where sometimes you have to do things you don't like or find boring. Even if they are full time influencers they will have to do admin things at set times like tax returns or know how to behave in public - just look at what it did to Mia!
