    Loose Women email to Tattle

At 17:30 UTC Friday 11th July 2025 Tattle received this email from loose women:

    ROR for Loose Women
I'm reaching out on behalf of ITV's Loose Women. We have Brian Dowling on our Monday (14th July) show as a guest, and he will potentially be discussing his experience with Tattle Life.

Here are Brian's quotes from our research chat with him: “The whole ‘Tattle’ situation was extremely serious - it even involved the police. The owner eventually deleted every thread because the abuse was so horrific. They spread lies accusing me of things like paedophilia, raping and kidnapping my sister, drug addiction, alcoholism, and abuse at work. The worst of the very worst. They even posted our home address online and sent us photos of our house. We were being stalked and bullied for two to three years so we have screenshots of many of the messages, but sadly the thread is gone so there’s no proof. Someone shouted at my sister, who was seven months pregnant at the time, saying, “We know where you live. We will find you. The worst moment was when people took pictures in hospital rooms and leaked my sister’s medical records. Those were some of the toughest nights. I cried a lot, feeling helpless. The extent of their cruelty was unbelievable.”

Would Sebastian Bond / Tattle Life be able to provide a ROR for us to use on the show?

Please note that we broadcast live from 12:30 so would need a response in advance of this time.

Tattle spent the weekend researching to see if these shocking claims had any truth at all. Brian has previously made unfounded serious allegations about tattle and rape in the media, but his claims appear to have morphed and got significantly worse in the last few weeks.

Reply from Tattle to Loose Women
Monday 9.30AM 14th July after Tattle had investigated as much as we could in the timeframe and the following email was sent:

    Hello,

We write in response to the series of claims put to Mr Bond/Tattle Life (“SB/TL”).

They raise a densely packed series of highly defamatory claims, including serious criminality. Having taken the weekend to review them, we have found no evidence to justify them.

    In particular:

    • SB/TL has not received a single report or ‘take-down request’ from Mr Dowling in connection with any post despite an easily accessible link available on every page of the site.
    • SB/TL have not received any communication from the police in connection with Mr Dowling.
    • The threads relating to Mr Dowling have not been deleted and are available here

Mr Dowling makes a very large number of claims about what has been posted about him on the site. Over the weekend, we have undertaken extensive enquiries to see what, if any, truth there is in his claims. This has involved the use of dozens of keywords, including a number of variants and related terms of the ones used in his pre-production call. These searches include any posts that have been ‘deleted’ due to breaching TL’s policies.

We have found no posts of the nature alleged by Mr Dowling. In particular, no messages have been identified that allege: “paedophilia”, “raping”, “kidnapping [his] sister”, “drug addiction”. There is no record of Mr Dowling’s address being posted nor of any photos or medical records of his sister – leaked or otherwise – ever having been posted.

In summary, the allegations of Mr Dowling’s that you propose to broadcast are highly defamatory and without basis in fact. Were they to be broadcast, we do not consider that any defences – including S.4 public interest – would apply. SB/TL expressly retain all rights in this regard.

We would be happy to meet with your producers and talk through and share the methodology we have used to debunk Mr Dowling’s claims in more detail. We would be happy to help your programme undertake its own reasonable and detailed pre-broadcast scrutiny of these very serious claims prior to any proposed transmission.

However, in the circumstances, we do not believe that Mr Dowling’s remarks, as adumbrated, can possibly be broadcast at this time. They are self-evidently defamatory and demonstrably untrue.

We invite you to confirm that Loose Women does not intend to broadcast these allegations.

    Best wishes,

The broadcast segment did not include the shocking untrue statements sent from their pre-interview and tattle was not mentioned.

Investigation into shocking claims made by Brian Dowling to loose women pre-production

In the current media storm influencers are telling flat out lies along with gigantic misrepresentations. The person in question has over 22,000 posts on their threads, making it very easy to make outlandish claims. However, debunking each one requires a lot of effort.

The threads are overwhelmingly benign comments on people who overshare their life on social media to make money. It’s no different to celebrity commentary that’s always existed. A quick way to get an overview of the content of the threads is to read the most liked posts

The whole ‘Tattle’ situation was extremely serious - it even involved the police. The owner eventually deleted every thread because the abuse was so horrific.”

We’ve had not one single report from Brian Dowling or a relation for any post. Every single page has a link to report a take down of a post so it seems remarkable to claim that such content was posted but not once he took 2 minutes to report it to us. Likewise the police have not contacted us about the threads.

We do not allow abusive or hateful posts, social media influencers may not like people discussing their life that they broadcast but comments an influencer doesn’t like are not automatically abusive or hateful.
Anyone can report a post if they see anything that oversteps the mark.

They spread lies accusing me of things like paedophilia, raping and kidnapping my sister

These are very serious claims. We’ve searched extensively, read thousands of message and asked regulars on the thread and no one recognises these ever happening.

What has happened is people have jokingly called his sister a handmaiden. But this was due to the arrangement of her giving birth for the first time as his surrogate. Where the baby was to go directly to the two men. His sister was not to hold the baby after giving birth, she would be immediately separated and not see the baby for at least a few weeks. This nickname was never to suggest criminal behaviour like rape or kidnapping like in The Handmaids Tale book.

The only time rape has been mentioned before Brian started telling the media this outrageous claim was the comment a comment in relation to safeguarding and sharing their child in swimwear on the internet as there are paedophiles on the internet. Many of the posters on the thread have been concerned with how the children have been used for commercial gain since the day they were born.
The only comment about paedophilia is also in relation to sharing inappropriate images of their children on their popular social media accounts.

No one has ever accused him of kidnapping his sister. Sometimes people have posted a “blink if you’re reading” as a joke:

drug addiction, alcoholism, and abuse at work. The worst of the very worst.

A handful of posts have wondered about alcoholism, but this has been due to the very regular posts of alcohol on Instagram, including saying he needed it.

We can’t find any posts about abuse at work. There has been speculation over his public fall outs with work colleagues including Davina McCall and this year a breakdown with his radio co-host. Both have been reported in the media.

No one has accused them of being addicted to drugs. One post makes a claim about cocaine use 16 years ago. We’ve found this for the first time just now and no one has ever reported it. We’d of deleted if someone did report as it’s an unsubstantiated claim. It’s been deleted now.

They even posted our home address online and sent us photos of our house. We were being stalked and bullied for two to three years so we have screenshots of many of the messages, but sadly the thread is gone so there’s no proof.

No one has posted his address. One person said they knew where it was due to him sharing daily his walk from the front door to the bus stop, but did not share the address.
Two people said they found it on a listing website due to what they shared online, but did not link to the listing or post the address. One did say the start of a postal district of Dublin. If this had been reported, we would have deleted as a number of a postcode breaks our strict rules on privacy, but no one did. It’s been deleted now.
They could have avoided this by getting the listing taken down before they started sharing the property online.
This was not done maliciously but more due to people's interest in celebrities' homes, as “through the keyhole” exemplifies.

If someone has sent photos of his house to him then this is nothing to do with tattle.

Someone shouted at my sister, who was seven months pregnant at the time, saying, “We know where you live. We will find you.

If this happened, then it’s nothing to do with tattle and is disingenuous to claim otherwise.

The worst moment was when people took pictures in hospital rooms and leaked my sister’s medical records. Those were some of the toughest nights. I cried a lot, feeling helpless. The extent of their cruelty was unbelievable.”

We’ve found no posts of medical records leaked or photos taken in the hospital. No one has ever seen these. One poster said they saw her in a hospital but that was it.

He had a reality TV show and book about his sister being a surrogate, where he apparently shared extensive details and showed her in the hospital shortly after giving birth.

We have a strict set of rules and it’s disappointing that influencers often tell the worst lies to misrepresent. They can't rely on the truth because the truth would be far too benign and wouldn't get people against Tattle.

Investigating these claims made has taken 2 man days. We’ve been unable to read every single post ever made, but have searched extensively, used AI and the regulars on the thread have helped. This is all true to the best of our knowledge and the best we can do in the timeframe we’ve been asked to respond to very serious claims without any evidence.

It’s very easy for an influencer to make up outrageous claims that have no basis in reality but takes a long time to investigate each one. But we always endeavour for the truth and welcome any evidence to back up claims.

(edit, thanks for the reports - this is just a rough outline of where the outrageous claims came from that we thought was worth sharing here. Rather than a polished piece that was sent out)
