What’s wrong with cancel culture when you look at her actions. Why should she have a business if she uses it to dupe/rip off her customers, collect Go Fund Me Money for ????? who knows what. Stick to the day job we have seen she’s no artist.

The people sticking up for her haven’t been personally effected or paying too much attention to her shenanigans.

When did the term “cancel culture” replace the word “fraud”? If influencers want to be paid as if they are a business, they must run as a business - which involves paying tax, providing quarterly statements, consumer protection etc. And if they’re stealing money, plagiarising creative work, breaching copyright laws and not providing refunds and exchanges as the law requires, then the outcome isn’t “cancelling”. It’s accountability, repercussions and, sometimes, jail.

Genuine question! What should Maddy do to make things better? Like, what should her next steps be? I’ve got no skin in this game but for some reason I just feel uneasy about Maddy’s situation. When I was first going to uni, I had severe mental health issues and the only way I knew how to deal with things like tasks and assignments was to avoid them. This made it so much worse because then I’d receive a fail and I would even avoid looking at that. Everything ended up piling on and I would have panic attacks. I dunno, I kind of feel like that’s what she is trying to explain. She avoids things that stress her out rather than dealing with them. She needs to get herself out of that cycle.
The copying, and the gaslighting (those messages between her and that poor person trying to get a refund omg!! Soooo bad), and the manipulation, really really poor form. But I think the consequences have been pretty bad for her already and I’m wondering if anyone sees a way out of this for her? Like, what would make this situation better?

She needs to start by providing proof of every Go Fund Me account she has set up or had a stake in.
Proof of where every cent has gone, even if it’s been spent by her, people to need to know and the air needs to be cleared.
She has said on numerous occasions when she was called out in the past they she hired someone to assist her with tasks within her business, this clearly never happened.
Refunds for all orders made by DM & through her pages, or have the products sent and proof of postage issued out.
If she is going to launch new releases or products perhaps they need to be on a pre-order basis capped at a number that she can manage- not be greedy for the cash to flow in, than get overwhelmed and not produce the orders.
As for the mental health / anxiety issues - I have no clue, I’m not up to speed on this, I have no idea how she moves forward with that, although if she is well enough to hold down her day job, she has a good income coming in from that, maybe it’s best for her mental health to step away from Yarli, focus on her day job and family, it could do wonders not having the stress of her business looming.
Social media is a tough place, if you can’t be honest and upfront, you will get hated on, she has not been transparent one single bit from what I have seen, I also do not have stake in her either way, but seeing her mob & allies hand over money for causes & not a single shred of evidence where the money has gone makes me hesitant to support businesses & fundraisers like hers.

I’m also aware it’s not just Yarli, the other chick with the “bus” Kinnita? She appears untrustworthy too, had the fund up for the community bus, didn’t post she had purchased it, until people called them out, all of a sudden she did buy a bus, didn’t insure it, apparently had her kids and family in and it was crashed, anyone can make up lies, there was no receipt or proof the bus existed, anyone can take a photo inside a random bus, where are the rego papers, receipt, police report on the crash, quote for repairs? If it was legit and above board surely people would have helped get it back on the road?

I think it reads like it was refunded in the end but that’s not the problem. The problem is the client had to request several times for a refund over what appears to be several months and then was gaslit for it. Insane business practices!

Yeah look, I’m a pretty empathetic person, but fraud is fraud. There’s patterned behaviour here, so there’s been plenty of opportunities for her to do better.

I would suggest taking her business off social media and selling pre-made items at stalls or markets. That transaction is water tight - make the thing, find a buyer, take their money, hand over the item. Simple.

Mental health problems or not, you simply cannot take money from people and then not provide the goods or services as promised.

I feel sorry for the mob that are grass roots and put out mutual aids to help, put their own money towards their community to help and have to resort to putting out mutual aids/GFM because their is no other option!

The genuine creators, whether it’s in the arts, homewares, jewellery, clothing or just creating to spread awareness. The ones that don’t have the access to navigate brand deals like she has done. They don’t have the privilege like she or Kenita has. They hustle but continue to do it because it’s for our people!

I have absolutely no empathy for her. She holds an incredible job with a great wage. Yarli creative was a cash cow for her and at first I thought her partner wasn’t aware of what she was doing. Now, after reflection, I do believe he knew and was happy to profit of our culture too.

This is so heinous. So she’s out there trying to garner sympathy in her crying reels and in the meantime she’s gaslighting and abusing customers - and friends it appears. She just needs to stop and get off the internet shut down her business (cos her artwork is trash anyways, my children paint better than her) and seek clinical help. It’s beyond me how she even became so popular with shitty business practices and even shittier art. She’s also aware now that these screenshots outing her as a manipulative gaslighting abuser are out so she’ll be going into crisis mode and trying to manipulate her following and anyone else who’ll listen with some bullshit story. Ohhhh I’m back! Ok soooo re the period undies GFM if she’s looking at having a prototype made of something that already exists that’s 100% a business decision not a fundraising one (she wanted to make $$$ from this pursuit. Someone pointed out it should have been a crowd funding business thing rather than a fundraising campaign. Also she was the recipient of a $10K Covid business grant so more money lining her barely-blak pockets.

I 100%reckon she’s waiting for the heat to die down and will be back happy as Larry like nothing happened.

as for Kenita she has not shown one single receipt for the $30K+. And only someone who has something to hide refuses to show their receipts. If you didn’t have anything to hide you would be straight up “Omg here is all the proof, 100% of the donated money went here here here and here is ALL the proof.” I mean as business women running (shit-house) businesses surely they would know how to keep records of things, no? Also conveniently, after the alleged bus crash back in FEBRUARY (didn’t feel the need to mention that until MAY some three months later), Kenita went and purchased herself an $11K wide format printer. Not a cheap purchase… Apparently she got a business loan for that so those receipts should be easily accessible to show she didn’t fraudulently use GFM funds for hefty business purchases.
