I need to buy a gift for a 7 year old boy. What are kids into these days? I don't want to ask as I want it to be a surprise.

Also on the note of xmas gifts what do I get a 70 year old that I immensly dislike. Bonus if it's cheap but looks/seems expensive

Maybe something Pokemon-y? I only have girls but they are popular with their class. Lego is always a good one. So many different sets these days! Harry Potter or Mario etc! A skateboard is something a bit different! Might want to include safety equipment though

7 year old boy ... Fidget stuff. Anime, seems to be the in thing at the in thing at the minute for alot of kids, my son is slightly older but I got him some Manga drawing kits from The Works. Nerf gun, a fun board game, Slime/Slime making kits (especially if you're not keen on one of the parents). Weird bath stuff like Jelli/crackle/slime Bath. A nice branded football? American candy hamper? (Kids love those at the minute!) One of those lamps you can buy with his gamer tag/favourite character/footie team on?

Honestly I got a 7 year old family member the guinness book of records and a Steve Backshall thing last year and he loved it and this year for his 8th birthday, I got him these books called Little People, Big Dreams which he also loved. It depends what he’s like tbh

We’ve also gotten him a nerf gun before and there’s some good toys I think they’re called snakes alive ?!!! they’re quite cool
