Wrinkles

So, I’m in my early 30s and I’ll be honest I’ve never had much of a skincare routine until the last few years. This is now coming back to bite me and I’ve started to develop wrinkles, specifically a deep laughter line on one side. I’ve always looked quite young and now I’m starting to feel super self conscious about it.

Can anyone recommend anything I can buy/do to stop it getting worse/make it less obvious? I’ve been Googling but there are so many different articles I’ve no idea where to even start!

Do you live near any department stores that offer skincare advice and facials?

If so, book in to have a facial ... perhaps start with something such as Clinique which has some great options for 30s ... tell them about your concerns prior - and get them to use recommended products on you. Don't be tempted to buy everything on the spot - just wait for a day or two to see how the products have felt on your skin. If you don't like what they used, move on to your next facial using a different brand.

I think you should seriously consider adopting a good routine now. At the very least, you'll need a cleanser, toner, moisturiser (with SPF for day, and without SPF for night), and an exfoliator.

Another suggestion - although it's a lot pricier - is to find a Dermalogica salon who will undertake a face mapping for you, to tell you exactly what you need (it's a scientific approach rather than a sales person telling you what you need). Dermalogica products are great - I've been using them for a while now and they really do produce wonderful results. They also sell little travel kits, which is an advantage if you want to try new products without going to the expense of buying full sizes.

My auntie is 47 and has always travelled / lived in very hot places and has ALWAYS had people complimenting her skin. She doesn’t look a day over 30. She recently told me (I’m 24 in a few days) to start using Clinique’s Dramatically Different Moisturiser if I want to avoid wrinkles in years to come, she has been using that for absolutely years and has always recommended it to people. I’ve been using it for 2 months now and my skin always feels & looks great. X

Drink water, don’t smoke, don’t bake yourself in the sun.

Elemis Pro-Collagen Marine cream is a good moisturiser. It doesn’t feel greasy on your skin. Downside, it is rather expensive.

No wrinkles at 30 so far. I keep my skin hydrated, simple skincare routine twice a day, never sleep in make up, I don’t drink/smoke or eat dairy but I think most of it is down to genes.

Try Skin + Me online dermatologists - I think the first month is free (pay P+P £3.50). You do a quiz on your skin and take some photos and they send you a personalised prescription cream you put on every night. I’m on my 2nd month and my skin looks so much better. Other than that, SPF everyday!

Use spf all the time, I’ve been told even indoors! Honestly I really don’t think topical creams can make much difference to wrinkles once they are already formed (apart from retinoids) but they can make your skin smoother and help makeup application etc. Drink plenty of water too. Then there’s always Botox! 😄

Ahhh I could have written this, but my are crow's feet. My eyes crease in the corners when I smile/laugh and as I get older the lines are deepening.
I have tried different things, but I'm so lazy with my skincare. I start with great intentions when I buy new products, but stop quickly.
I think I will resort to Botox eventually.

Same here! I tried superdrugs vitamin E eye cream as I'd read good things about it, but it has dried the skin around my eyes and has left red blotches. So any ideas for a good eye cream would be appreciated please 🙏 im early 30s.

Best thing you can do for your skin is moisturiser with SPF. Usually once there are wrinkles they won’t go no matter how much you cream them. You’d have to stop laughing 😂. I went for a consultation yesterday, I’m nearly 40, but told I have pretty good skin, but I can see a line here and there, I’m getting Botox in Jan to stop the forehead line getting worse. Moisturisers will definitely help keep lines at bay, but they won’t get rid of the ones that are there. A good skin care range is The Ordinary. Their serums and moisturisers (especially ones with SPF are fab). Dermalogica is really good too x

So I started recently using boots own stuff they have a glow range (pink packaging) and is a steal at £4. I also use skin revolution products there is an under eye serum.
I'm early 30s as well and up until 2 years ago still asked for ID.
