You've been lucky enough to be offered three jobs!
(It's thanks to there being a serious skills shortage in this area at the moment).
All involve shift work and are Covid-proof. You work just fine by yourself and don't really crave company, but you do feel a bit isolated at times.
Job #1:
- Working from home - there is no "office" to go to, as everyone works remotely
- You have to supply your own computer, etc. (which is fine, as you have all that stuff)
- Money is the lowest of all three jobs and on an hourly rate basis
- Term is for "about 12 months"
- There has been no mention of a dedicated training period
- There is no potential to meet colleagues at team events or anything
Job #2:
- Working from home - there is no "office" to go to, as everyone works remotely
- All your equipment will be sent to you by the employer (all brand new, state-of-the-art equipment)
- Money is right in the middle of the three jobs
- It's a permanent job
- Training will be from home also; it's for five weeks, and the amount you get paid during training and once you start the job for real, is the same
Job #3:
- Working from a client's site which is about 25 minutes' drive away
- All your equipment is provided by the employer and only for use at the site (you wouldn't be able to bring anything home)
- Money is the same as job #2 while undergoing five weeks worth of training, then it gets bumped up by about 10% to what will be the actual starting salary
- It's a permanent job
- Training will be at the client site
- There is huge potential to mix and mingle with workmates, who you will be seeing each day (and the team all get along super-well; they're a huge mixed bag of ages and nationalities)
... So, which one would you choose - and why?

This really depends entirely on whether you like WFH or not which I can’t see anywhere on the thread. If you do, job 2. If you don’t, job 3. If you don’t mind/don’t have a strong preference, I’d pick the one with the better salary.

I would 101% choose job 2 in that case!! Don’t like not knowing my schedule — so hard to schedule having a life with that format.

Option 2, 11000%! I work with shift workers and i couldn’t do it. They get paid crazy extra money for it too, so most of them do it for a short while and then leave.. for 10% it’s absolutely not worth it (our minimum shift allowance is 25% I think)

Congratulations on being offered three positions! I would go for job #3, because you said "You work just fine by yourself and don't really crave company, but you do feel a bit isolated at times." and that I feel like job 3 is the only one that has the potential to change that. I also like that you need to leave your equipment at work, meaning that the work/home separation sounds more straightforward. That being said, I'm not entirely familiar with shift work. It doesn't sound like it would be something I'd be happy with, but each to their own. Good luck!

I forgot to mention that option 3 involves shift work ... 24 hour shift work ... which would be fine for me as I'm a night owl but I do understand it can wreak havoc on stress and sleep levels.

I'd go for option 2 as I prefer working at home. I wouldn't be happy with shift work, but I have a young family so just wouldn't manage with childcare. Option 1 sounds dodgy imo.
