I’ve worked in my current role for 10 years and advised my employer of my 2nd pregnancy 2 weeks ago. So far I have not had a pregnancy risk assessment completed. This morning my manager has contacted me to advise that the new senior leader for our company has asked for me and him to alternate being on call every other weekend. I don’t believe this is in my contract, but have requested a copy to confirm. Even so, I’ve never been on call in 10 years. I’m exhausted in my current pregnancy and the thought of being on call that much and dealing with issues is filling me with dread. I’ve asked HR to check my contract, but haven’t contacted my union yet. Guess I’m trying to ask whether something that hasn’t been enforced in 10 years could now be enforced during pregnancy?
