What's your view on Murals?

I keep seeing in my feed Murals of various recently known figures and organisations popping up in different cities across the nation. Are they a fairly recent thing in England - as in past 20 years or so? I know Bansky has been doing them a while but he always add some sort of distorted twist.

The art of them itself is normally well done - but do you think they're a bit too dominant? One of my gripes is that there's no real say of who they're of, they just appear one day and that's that. Kind of waters down the meaning.

Maybe I'll have to do a UK mural tour and start rating them out of 10 🤔

You can do a tour of the murals in Belfast. Its a thing here and has been for a long time. I didn't know the rest of the UK did it too, are they mostly political? I did an A level in history of art and my course work consisted of the murals here.

You should visit Belfast if your a mural fan. They are everywhere here! And very political.
