What's the least amount of sleep you can function on?

At work I used to do double and triple shifts (never again). It involved working in the day then sleep in nights 10:30pm-7am. It used to be really hard to sleep there though as you were always alert to someone could come to the door or the phone could ring. Sometimes I'd only get about 2 and a half hours sleep then have another 8 hour shift. I just managed it but definitely wasn't 100%.

On Sunday night I had a terrible sleep as well, about 3 hours. I seemed okay in the day but did get a few 'you look knackered' comments. So I'd say 2 hours or less I'd be going on pure grit but barely functioning.

4 hours a night for many years. Still only sleep 4 hours but do sometimes have an afternoon nap now.

I can function on no sleep and go to work. I have done it many times. I wouldn't say I was at my best but no one noticed and the power of makeup masked my eyebags! As soon as I'm home or even in my car on the way home, the exhaustion always hits me like a truck though and I'll need a nap as soon as. 2 hours usually and I'm okay. Mind you, this was when I worked retail and I was at uni. I do make more of a conscious effort to get in a better routine but it rarely happens.

Usually function on 4 hours. But I do catch up on sleep on the weekends (12+ sometimes!)

I can deal with 0-2 hours. Function best on 6-8. For some reason, anything like 3-5 hours and I’m a total zombie. Utterly useless, can barely do anything.

When I went to Orlando in 2019, I ended up being awake for a full 24 hours in total, that’s probably the longest I’ve ever stayed up since I’ve been an adult! 😂

I did do a job for work a few weeks back and I had three hours sleep in 24 hours.

I can’t really function properly on less than six though.

I have about 7-8 hours a night. I feel a bit run down and unwell if I have around 5 hours sleep (headache, shaky) and I’m basically dead if it’s below that 😆

Pre pandemic I’d have usually between 5-6 hours a night during the week. Now, Im on average the same but more frequently 4 hours roughly. Always sleep for ridiculous amounts at the weekend though, anywhere from 12-15 hours straight

I’m starting to think I have hypersomnia...I often feel so so tired during the day and crave naps, despite getting 8-9 hours sleep, i feel really unwell if I don’t sleep and starts getting symptoms of a cold. My family used to joke I can sleep for weeks and now I’m really worried lol. It’s definitely not my iron levels because they’re normal (just had a recent blood test)

I need 5-7 hours minimum otherwise I can’t function properly. longest I’ve been awake is nearly 2 days (travelling/time zones) and I felt dead

Probably about 5 hours. I'm an awful sleeper and wake up so many times in the night. On average I have about 6/7 hours.

Anything less than 6 hours and I'm like the walking dead ... I start seeing stars, feel dizzy and nauseous, am incredibly grouchy, and can't string a sentence together. A good night's sleep is 9-10 hours.

I used to be able to pull all-nighters when I was busy with work; not so now.

I need about 6 minimum otherwise I'll be in a rotten mood for the next day. According to my sleep tracker I get about 7.5 a night. I am an early riser though and often wake at 5am for no reason at all so I try to go to sleep before 11 each day so I can get at least 6 hours.
