Hello thought it might be helpful to have a thread about what to pack in your cabin bag. I’m going on a long haul flight soon so was wondering what everyone takes in their hand luggage!

Toothbrush and toothpaste
Eye mask for sleeping
A scarf in case it’s cold on the plane
Blow up beach ball (if you inflate this about half way-two thirds and cover it with the scarf it makes a pretty decent pillow for you to put on the tray table!)
Spare socks and knickers
Medicines
A book
Antibacterial wipes
Wallet
Pen
Empty water bottle for refilling once through security
Essential makeup/skincare products (moisturiser, lipgloss etc)
Snacks
Any essential documentation e.g. car hire at the other end

Among my other essentials I always put bikini/swimsuit, flip flops and a lightweight cover up in mine if I’m going somewhere hot. Ive had my case go missing before and nothing worse than rocking up and not having anything to change into when it’s baking.

iPad loaded with series/films - obvs if you're long haul they'll have these available for you anyway

For a long haul flight the following -
I always bring leggings or joggers/baggy top/hoodie and some fluffy socks for when I want to get changed and relax properly. I then get changed again back into whatever my outfit was that I wore on the plane. I just hate being in the same clothes for a really long flight and like to be as fresh as I can when getting off the plane.

Outfit for the first day of the holiday (incase case goes missing, thankfully its never happened!)

AirPods

If the flight includes a layover, I always recommend a throwaway towel and shower cap to take a shower and freshen up - also a toothbrush and toothpaste. Tbh I only have experience of doing layovers in Doha, Qatar and Dubai
