What made you happy today? #2

Went for a walk and a coffee with a friend this morning. She's been a bit down and messaged me after thanking me for listening and lifting her up. Made me feel lovely knowing id helped in the smallest way I could

We got a box with our Aldi delivery, my cat Sue absolutely loves it. She has two other boxes but this one makes her so happy she swiped at her brother for daring to smell it.

He is her actual brother, not just a cat sibling. He's twice her size but she'll still give him a smack when he needs one.

My son, who has struggled with ‘failure to thrive’ since birth (his 6 months of E. coli were one part of that) is now considered to be thriving and we will be moving him off his high calorie prescription formula starting tomorrow. No reason to believe he can’t hold his own now and I finally don’t feel afraid to try. Best news for me

I've just found out my pay rise is higher than I was expecting. We usually get 3% but this year it's 4%!

I napped for 3 hours. I'm working tonight but thought I'd wake up after an hour or so, as ive slept all night too, but I slept for 3. I don't feel tired. I don't remember the last time I didn't feel tired

I had therapy today and I already feel so much better. I just really really needed it. So pleased I'm taking a positive step towards feeling better

My manager is so determined to raise me up, build my confidence, and strengthen my reputation at work, sometimes I'm just shocked by it. There are good people in the world still, and I work with quite a few of them. After a string of shirty bosses, it's not a situation I take for granted!

What made me happy today was hearing from my neurosurgeon that my brain tumour is non-malignant

And THAT is the best post I’ve read here in a while. Wonderful.

A teenage lad at the bus stop insisted on me going ahead of him when the bus arrived, even though he was there before me. I often hold forth on the rant thread about how some people have become so oblivious to others and just barge around as though nobody else exists, that it's nice to see something like that and it made me happy.

Got drenched just now while walking, home, shower and into pyjamas. Will find something relaxing to watch on tv, happy as could be.

How lovely. Such small acts of kindness that cost nothing can certainly go a long, long way.

I'm sure I've posted on here before about the time I was struggling to lift a large box from my car boot to take to the post office. (I actually had 3 or 4 of them and intended to take them in one at a time & leave them just inside the PO door until I'd unloaded them all, then hoof them all up to the counter one by one - I was parked just a few feet away from the entrance to the PO btw.

Anyway, these two teenage boys who were passing saw me lifting out the first one and came over to ask if they could help. They carried all of the boxes in for me, not just into the entrance, but right up to the PO counter itself - thankfully no-one else was queueing that day.

I couldn't thank them enough for their help and made them promise to tell their parents that I said what wonderfully helpful & mannerly children they'd brought up.

A kind act like this can really make someone's day. It certainly made mine.

For me, a lie in, a sunny day and having a really nice conversation with an artist in a crafts market I went to about her works. Love hearing about how creative people process things as I am not at all like that

Had one of these molten lava microwave pizzas for lunch. Straight back to childhood. Used to live off these and turkey twizzlers (damn you Jamie Oliver 🫩)

Planning a trip to South Australia to see my dad. He's been really sick (months in hospital) and is finally feeling well enough to have me down for a night or two.
I really won the 'stepdad lottery' when he and my mum married, he's such a good egg.

I went shopping today and everyone seemed to be happy. 2 older women in the changing rooms were trying on holiday clothes, one of them kept saying how she couldn't believe she could fit into a size 14 and she was so happy. Then a lady in john lewis was buying her MOB hat, she looked so excited. People just seemed happy which seems to be a rarity when out and about these days!

This sounds horrible but it seems that my neighbours who I had some issues with have moved out plus it's Saturday, currently relaxing on the sofa with a nice coffee, Saturday papers and the cats and no noise from.next door, lovely. Happy Saturday everyone!

I realised today how much better I’m feeling in myself, compared to six months ago. I think it’s a change in medications, which allowed me to feel well enough to start going the gym regularly and now I’m eating better too. I caught myself reacting to my dogs cheeky behaviour earlier in a fun way, starting a play session when I know a few months ago I would have got annoyed at him.
