What is your heating set to?

Please don't let this turn into threads like this do on Mumsnet with stealth bragging of how frugal people are with their heating

We haven't had our heating on since 1984, and even then it only came on when it went below -10

Menopausal so mine is set to OFF and if anyone dares go near it, no matter how blue and frozen they are, they will die!

19, but I boost to 24 when I’m WFH. I am a chilly mortal and always wear a thermal vest, jumper and a chunky knit indoors too.

ETA and I have a hot water bottle for the day and electric blanket for the night.

I also don't have a thermostat due to renting. I have my heating on all day and only off at night time. I'm worried the bill is going to be crazy

People who leave your heating on all day, is your bill bad???

mine is oil so I don’t get a bill as the oil is bought upfront ... oil is cheap at the moment so I’ve not been too concerned. Though if I’m being honest I don’t really care what it costs as long as me and my cats and rabbits are warm enough. I spent years of my life living without heating so now I love the luxury of just wallowing in warmth

Mine is set to 20°c and it's always on.

Growing up, we would never have the heating on as my mother would rather spend money on shoes and crap so I was always cold.
I dread to think of being cold now so the heating it's always on.

We have it set to around 20-21* when we are home and it goes down to 16.5/17 at night. I can’t sleep warm!
we once lived in a flat with single pane glass and no heating so these days I’m not stingy with the heating. Life’s too short to be cold.
We have a house that seems to piss warmth out the external wall on the side (semi detached) so it doesn’t retain heat well (thermostat in hall)

my parents have the house to like 22-24, I call their home the Caribbean

We have ours set to 20 overnight and about 22 in the day during winter my partner sets it to 24 when he’s home! Bloody sauna

We have our woodburner lit constantly when it's freezing as we live in an old cottage so feel like the heating doesn't quite warm the house enough on super cold days and I'm working from home so can't be sat in a cold house, so heatings off but will boost it 4-5 times a day to give the upstairs some heat. When we don't have the woodburner lit it's 18-20 and comes on and off all day according to that. Our heating goes off anyway at 11pm as I hate the upstairs being stuffy, I'd rather use extra throws and wear thick pjs than put the heating on at night, then it comes back on at 6am.

My husband comes in and turns it down every morning and I turn it straight back up I like to be cosy!

We have our thermostat set to around 19-21 for us all evening we are out at work all day but if it’s gonna be a rainy day or there’s snow etc or temps like under 6/7 I’ll leave it set to around 17/18 for the cats as they deserve it.

Oh and it’s not on while we are in bed

I do this too. If it’s cold and I’m at work and I check the Hive, I’ll put the heating on for my two cats

Set to 16 and has been all day , it’s just a constant warm no need to turn up or down. No heating on overnight, goes on at 7 in the morning.

Mine doesn’t seem to click on below 20, unless I’m doing it wrong I have it at 24, turn it into a sauna and then turn it off. I’ve been known to wake up at 3am and turn it right up, then I wake up at 7 wondering why I’m sweating

Set to 24, Mother is 90 years old, we can manage on 22 sometimes and the heating gets turned down to 20 overnight.

Usually about 23-25. Old, solid brick building with no wall insulation so 25 reads as a room temp of 15c. Have no option but to spend a fortune on gas

We have it set to 22 but our place warms up quickly so usually only need it on for 10 minutes a couple of times during the day/evening.
