I cannot drink from dirty tea stained mugs and have to scrub them before using, even if I've only just had a cup.

I always take the butter out of the fridge about an hour before having toast/a sandwich because it has to be room temperature when I use it.

I only drink filtered or bottled water and it has to be ice cold, can't face tap water.

I dont drink ‘normal’ tea only herbal or fruit teas, so I absolutely hate tea stained mugs. I have to have my own separate ones, especially at work. And if my personal mug goes through the dishwasher and someone at work uses it, I will never use that mug again, it’s donated to the office cupboard!

I'll only drink things if their cold unless it's water, that's got to be room temperature

I take the butter out the fridge way before I use it too

I only like to eat raw fruits and veg at room temperature. My husband thinks I am ridiculous. I also firmly believe that tea tastes better out of a bone china cup.

a guy at my old job never washed his mug, he’d just pour whatever’s left in it out and make himself a new drink in the same mug. He’d been doing it every day for years, the inside of his mug was pure black 🤢

I always dish up our dinner on warmed up plates, I just think it's so much nicer. Especially right now with it being so cold, the plates straight out of our cupboards are cold too. When my bf (occasionally) cooks, he'll serve the food on stone cold plates and I'm like 😡

I hate drinks being ice cold out the fridge, I prefer to drink everything room temp.

Cutlery has to be matching. Other half constantly pulls out a knife and fork from different sets. Can't use them. Have to match or it winds me up.

I won't drink out of the same bottle, can, mug anything that ANYONE else has. Including my own children and partner. If someone takes a sip from something of mine I tell them to keep it. My partner always says "you'll suck my fool but won't drink out of the same bottle as me?".

I don't like water on its own unless it is FREEZING cold or it has to have cordial or fruit in. Even then I'm not keen.

If one plate or piece of cutlery is missing from the set, I replace the whole lot.

When I lived in a refuge I washed this revolting looking mug that was caked brown inside. And some woman went absolutely nuts! Said I ruined it and it seasons her tea! My dad has a stained old brown teaspoon he claims the same!

One of my Aunts has a mug just like this and says exactly the same. It actually worries me that it never gets washed and she drinks from it. It has a "grimey" look to the inside of it. Gross.

I was so shocked that it was actually in use! I just thought it was a manky old cup that looked like it had been used as a teabag dump for years. You could literally scrape the brown crap off with your fingernail. 🤢

Same re water being at room temperature. No way could I use mis-matched cutlery!

I am the same with butter, I keep enough for a couple of days in a butter dish at room temperature. Hate in restaurants (remember those?!) when they bring you out cold butter that you can’t spread.

I also have a long-standing petty bicker with my parents about whether eggs live in or out of the fridge... clearly the answer is out but they insist on in!

Any sauce you are adding to hot food like a ketchup should also be at room temperature before they go anywhere near my plate.

I’ve got better as I’ve got older but I’m not brilliant with different food textures touching each other... my idea of absolute hell is lasagne, why is all that stuff in a dish together?!

I am absolutely anal about the way the dishwasher is stacked. My husband just throws stuff in any which way. I ALWAYS have to take it out and rearrange it.

I live in the south east and never drink tap water. Even after using a filter it still smells and tastes do chemicals.
i have an ongoing internal battle re recycling and excessive plastic but I just can’t do it. Water is my main drink. I drink at least two litres a day usually more and very rarely drink anything else.

Hah ha. Once i accidentally left my mug on the drainer at work, and then later that day i saw it being carried across the office by someone else, they were sipping their drink out of it. It became their cup after that. I bought a new one. I’ll drink from cups at restaurants but when it comes to your work mug, no, that crosses a very big line 😬 😂

Can we change it to pretentious?

ponce (n.)
a slang word, chiefly British, 1872, originally "a pimp, a man supported by women" (pouncey in same sense is attested from 1861 in Mayhew), of unknown origin, perhaps from French pensionnaire "boarder, lodger, person living without working." Meaning "male homosexual" is attested by 1932 in Auden [OED].

I hate cold condiments 🤢 I keep mayo etc in the fridge but get them out well before I need them to ‘warm up’

Not keen on food touching each other on the plate. I’ve got better at it but meh.

I’m particular about my bedding - I sleep with 3 pillows, can’t be too firm but not too soft, need the quilt properly in the corners of the duvet cover... just call me Goldilocks
