I just watched that vitamin movie - don't think it's available to watch/buy anywhere legit but it's here

It's very pro vitamin C. Really making me want to buy a huge sack of it and mega dose daily - looks like low risk as it's water-soluble. Even on the cancer research UK site they don't debunk it, rather it's shown some interesting things and more research is needed

I took magnesium for restless legs for ages with no luck then my GP suggested iron supplements. My ferritin wasn’t too low (mid 30s) but she’d read a report that it needed to be much higher (over 50) if you had restless legs. Anyway, after a month of iron supplements it completely cleared up so might be worth a go if you are struggling.
Some of the parameters for what is considered adequate levels are way out of line and a lot of GPs are slaves to blood tests. I wish more of them would use the duck test, if it waddles like a duck, quacks like a duck and swim like a duck, there is a good chance its a fucking duck.

Last year I had my bloods done which showed I was deficient in vitamin D. I had a course of prescribed extra strength vitamin D capsules and recently finished the course.

I’m looking to buy some high strength ones from Holland and Barrett and looking into other vitamins too but there’s so many. (I’m 27, suffer with fatigue and hormonal issues, & wanting to shred a couple of pounds for summer for reference).

Which ones do you take and why, and do you see the benefits?

I take nothing but I really should, I just have a huge phobia of tablets, always worry they will get stuck in my throat plus can't handle the taste :(
I do as well - a tablet got stuck in my throat when I was younger and since then cant take anything too big.

Vitabiotics Vitamin D are tiny as are their vitamin B (which I just ordered because of this thread lol)
I have a multivitamin that's a gummy - they do adult versions of these now - im not sure how good they are really and they do have sugar in but they are an option

Also Better You sell sprays - they are on Amazon, Holland and Barrett - they do a vitamin D spray, multivitamin, vegan vitamin and a few others I think - all quite good!

I've just ordered the Floradix Tonic recommended on this thread too which is a liquid and looks quite good for vitamins plus iron 🙂

Vitamin D. I'm fair skinned and have a history of getting spots and abnormal moles after sun exposure, so the last thing I want is to risk skin cancer by being constantly in the sun. I also live in a fairly cold and grey place that's freezing for at least half the year, and we don't get much sunlight even if we wanted to so Vitamin D is essential.
My gp told me that we should all be taking vitamin d, especially given that we've all been inside for a year. She said she prescribes it to everyone now.

what would everyone recommend for vegan supplements that actually work & make you feel better? other than b12 ( I already take it daily) TIA
I just take the Holland and Barret vegan one. It seems okay.

Multivitamin - I spent hours comparing the % of them all, some are a bit ridiculous when you look into it properly (10% of something, 1200% of something else etc). I wanted one that had 100% of everything.

Also take extra vitamin D and magnesium and collagen too. I would really recommend collagen, my skin has never looked better (not younger, or more toned or anything, just a bit glowy, if that makes sense). I ran out of it and didn't think I was that fussed but then my skin went really dull and my sleep was rubbish too and I realised it was the collagen. I have a powder that I put in my coffee or make into a milkshake. (I use the womens best true beauty, they taste awful with water but better with milk. I am tight and it isn't cheap so while I was waiting for a sale I bought it from Bulk (vanilla) and I really liked that one too. It is much cheaper.)

Ah thank you so much. I will definitely look into these after work as I really should start taking some especially for my iron levels :)

I think that is what happened to me too when I was in my teens and I have struggled since. I couldn't even stay on the pill because i would get serious anxiety about taking it everyday. The thought alone makes me want to be sick.. so weird.
I honestly completely get it. And you feel so stupid saying you're not good at taking pills but I think it's more common than you think!

Vitabiotics are about the size of what the pill used to be for me - I think there might be a pic on their amazon listing so if you struggle with that at all then I would just get the sprays better you do as they work really well tbh.

Im fine with the little pills now but anything too big and I can't do it - which seems stupid as I can shove a load of food in no problem at all 😂

I’m vegetarian (I eat cheese but not eggs or dairy) and I take a centrum multivitamin every day, plus recently started taking omega 3 fish oil capsules (I know these aren’t vegetarian friendly but thought they were the lesser of two evils instead of eating fish!)
Ive recently heard its actually worse to take fishbowl capsules than eat fish, as it take a huge quantity of fish to produce the concentrated oil for the capsules, therefore all the toxic waste within the fish such as plastics and Mercury is concentrated into the oil. I am vegan and in the past have taken a vegan omega supplement which is made from algea, which is where the fish actually gets its omega from.

If you want all the info on the oil there was a section on it in seapiracy on Netflix.

I've taken Vitamin C with Zinc for years. When I was about 16 i would get a cold every 6 weeks and my friends mum who was a nurse told me to take vitamin c and zinc. It definitely works.

Now i take vitamin D too, only really because of covid.
