Unusual food habits

Does anyone have any unusual food habits? If I get fish from the chippy, I have to remove all the batter, eat the fish then eat the batter. I’m the same with chicken nuggets from McDonald’s.

I have quite a few ‘quirks’ with food. I’m very particular about certain foods touching.

I have to go through all the chips on my plate and remove any that have marks of any sort on them ... I call them bad ones 😆

If I ever eat cake bars and the like, I always eat the chocolate off the sides, then the bottom biscuit/cake then the filling/topping 😅 Done it since I was a little kid. It extends to similar chocolate bars too, e.g. a KitKat Chunky or a Twix, although I'm not quite so meticulous about those. Cupcakes are always icing last too. Lets the sweetness/flavour linger.

I do this with KitKat Chunky’s, not tried it with a Twix yet. 😂

Me too. Beans can touch mashed potato, but nothing else. I make a mash potato wall/dam- Trump would be proud 🤣😂😆

If I have beans or peas as part of a meal I have to have them in a separate bowl so they don't mingle with the other elements.
Luckily my OH is understanding of my foibles .❤

I do the same with Twixes and kit kat chunkys 😂 I do it with double dockers as well!

My boyfriend bites the top of the twix and the bottom and drinks his brew through it like it's a straw 😂 ive tried it it is good but I'd rather bite all the chocolate off 😂

No food touching

Chips have to be perfect, no crunchy ones or bits with stuff on

I have to plate my food up myself because I like it to look nice 😂

If I go to my mum’s and she’s made a pie with chips, I can only have the gravy on the pie and nowhere near the chips. So I eat them in different plates.

Oh plenty. For years I wouldn’t eat anything green at all or yoghurts with bits in. I can’t have Beans, bananas, mushrooms, peas, peanut butter and sweetcorn on my plate anywhere and I can’t physically touch them.
I’m fussy with chips- if they have black bits on them I have to pick it off and if they’re too thick I won’t eat them. If I go to a restaurant I have to see the menu in advance or I get really anxious. I also go into “food loops” which baffle my housemate because I happily go weeks eating the exact same thing every day. At the moment it’s cheese sandwiches.

Every time I have battenberg cake, I seperate the squares, and eat them individually. I used to remove the chocolate coating off mini swiss rolls with my teeth, and then eat the mini roll.

I don't mind food touching other food items on a plate but this fine dining style where food is piled in a stack is so unappealing and unappetising to me. You have to then unstack it to tuck into it and the whole plate looks a mess, plus its just so bloody pretentious. I call it gob head food.

My OH loves fine dining and I always think it’s such a waste. I’m quite like Daisy May Cooper if you’ve ever heard her on the Off Menu podcast. She said she’s more about quantity over quality 😂

Mine does to 😅 I can't understand why people get so excited about it. I know presentation is important but I think it just looks silly.

If I have yorkshire puddings on a Sunday dinner, I can’t have gravy poured on them. I’m happy to dip them into gravy but they go way too soggy if the gravy is poured on.

I can’t have tomato ketchup and beans on the same plate, or on the rare occasions that I do they need to be as far aware as possible.

Slightly different but I can always tell when I’m full while eating the likes of fish and chips because I’ll put down my knife and fork and start picking at the food with my fingers.

Not sure this is unusual, but since putting peanut butter and jam in a sandwich, I always have to have them together. Peanut butter’s lovely in porridge as well, but it takes a lot of stirring in.

I used to run a cafe and a great number of people are very particular about breakfast items, beans either served separately or not touching the egg, bacon two extremes either hardly cooked at all or do it really really well then do it some more till you can snap it, don’t put my beans on the toast, don’t put my poached eggs on my toast, sausages cook them then split them and make sure the middle is well done. I had a family in one time and all 3 of them asked for a different shade of colour on the toast, oh mine really lightly done but not still floppy, oh mine really really well done but not black , mine you know just about to be well done but not. Shame on me but to the amusement of all the other customers I said ok that’s fine but I have an idea next time why don’t you just bring me a bleeping colour chart from B and Q and you can just point to right colour.🤦🏼‍♀️🤣

Whenever I go out for lunch/dinner I always eat with a knife and fork even if it’s a burger or pizza, I hate eating with my hands in public 😂 - unless it’s a fast food place like McDonald’s

I honestly don’t know how you do it!! I am particular but, would never ask, I’d just sit there. I hate beans and the first time I stayed at my friends and had breakfast, her mum made a bowl of beans with bacon stuck in it. I was nearly crying eating it 😂

I do this!! Everyone has always said, it’s a posh thing to do!
