Lost my dad last year(have another thread here about going NC with family member,ie my brother). Travelling down to stay with mum for the 5 days we are allowed. Mum has now told me that my brother is going to stay with mum the Monday and Tuesday. Also taking 11 year old niece so putting mum at risk. Really unsure what to do now. Can't leave mum.kn her own but worried about risk. My son is also traveling down separately so that will be the max 3 households.

I count four households - does your son live with you?

My family is being funny with me because we said we won't be visiting anyone. Guilt tripping saying "oh we will be alright on our own".

Why don't you go once your brother and niece have left? With regards to your niece putting your mum at risk - I think that's a decision for your mum to worry about - you can't be responsible for her choices. I imagine she's keen to see her. If it helps, my mum is very cautious but still saw my son (when we were allowed, in tier 2 currently) but kept a reasonable distance and was very careful. It is hard as we all have different views on what we feel is best.

We are. We are going on the Wednesday til Sunday as 4 hours away.

If your mum is happy for the other family members to come into her home, that is her call. Do you feel comfortable going?

Technically speaking you wouldn't be breaking any rules because the three household bubble is allowed from Wednesday until Monday.

It would be your brother, niece and mum breaking the rules in the two days before because that would mean tier rules were to be followed.
