Why would a meeting between Starmer, who's been effectively ousted by Burnham, and Burnham himself, be anything other than frosty? As I said yesterday, Burnham is the one who chose to present himself as the solution to the UK's problems, he's made his bed. If he thinks Keir is frosty, he's got a big shock when it comes to the press...

The most attractive living being ever seen in the vicinity of number 10 is Larry the cat, all the rest of them pale into insignificance. I especially like it when he lies down on the pavement and refuses to move. He’s seen off six Prime Ministers so far, there’s a lesson to be learned by such stoic behaviour!

He’d be heaving away and I’d be heaving up my breakfast, dinner and tea. A hideous prospect for all concerned.
I have wondered idly if he quotes things from the Classics while he’s at it, things about his ‘sword of Damocles’ or a ‘Sisyphean endeavour’.
