Just more mindless Jew hate
It’s incredible the amount of hate they get because they defended themselves. Are Palestine and Hamas who run the country getting it? Hell no, for some reason people flock to defend them. I’ve got Jewish friends and family, my great uncle was imprisoned in a concentration camp during the war and he would be ashamed to see that the exact same Jew hate is happening all over again.
I don’t defend netenyahu at all but when his only job is to defend his country, you can’t blame them man. There is one Jewish country in the entire world, doesn’t it make you wonder why those countries surrounding it want it wiped out? You can’t say anything about them as you’re called Islamophobic but in reality it’s not hatred or fear for them or the religion, it’s what they do in their religions name.

Always follows the same playbook. Someone posts some dubious story from some dubious source. Click on the source and you'll find a timeline full of antisemitism and blood libels.

Tbf the more I read, the more I learn that all of this is driven by the religious extremes of both sides. I think it’s really hard for those of us raised in a secular society to see the wood for the trees right now, and we’re very easily cowered by accusations of both Islamophobia and antisemitism.

Western societies are built on Christian principles and practices, but its institutions have been (perhaps intentionally) eroded, leaving secular Europeans and their descendants with very little spiritual guidance as to what is happening right now. Whereas those leading these conflicts believe themselves to be engaged in an end times religious war that us mere mortals (and indeed the majority of Muslims and Jews living in secular society) have little chance of understanding, let alone overcoming.

it’s all very depressing and terrifying.

The state of Israel was artificially created by the forceful displacement of over 750,000 Palestinians. They didn't willingly leave because they wanted to but rather that were forced out. Over 400 Palestinian villages were destroyed or depopulated in multiple massacres. Israel's current existence has been used to justify the ongoing dispossession of another people.

When Jews were fleeing the Holocaust, Muslim countries like Turkey, Palestine and Iran actually took them in. That's fact, not narrative. Before Zionism became a political movement, Jews, Christians, and Muslims lived together in Palestine for centuries. Iran today, still has over 40 active churches. Christians have been in the Middle East since the beginning.

In Gaza, one of the oldest churches in the world, the Greek Orthodox Church of Saint Porphyrius, was hit by an Israeli strike. Families sheltering inside died. Christians. Not Hamas.

Saying it was just self defense ignores the fact that self-defense has limits. International law isn't a cute side note you can ignore when it's inconvenient.

The ICC's chief prosecutor has stated that Israel "intentionally and systematically deprived the civilian population in all parts of Gaza of objects indispensable to human survival." He described these acts as "committed as part of a common plan to use starvation as a method of war." That's not opinion.

Cutting off water to 2 million people isn't defense.

The WHO has documented over 400 attacks on healthcare facilities in Gaza.

When you shoot civilians waiting for food. When you hit church compounds sheltering families. When you destroy every university in Gaza. That stops being "defense" and starts being something else entirely.

Sam Sank a Brit from London filmed himself in Gaza while his unit laughed and cheered as neighborhoods were demolished. B'Tselem, Israel's leading human rights group, called that operation a war crime. He and others like him should be held accountable.

Levi Simon, also British, filmed himself rummaging through Palestinian women's underwear drawers in abandoned homes. Over 2,000 British nationals have served in the IDF during this war. Why shouldn't they be asked exactly what they did?

You said your great uncle would be ashamed to see Jew hate happening again. Maybe he'd also look at a child in Gaza, the Christian family killed , and say the same thing he said about the camps: "Never again for everyone".

I’m not convinced that Christian culture is what historically protected Jews. During the Holocaust many Christian-majority countries turned Jewish refugees away or collaborated with the Nazis. Meanwhile Albania, which had a Muslim-majority population, actively sheltered Jews and even ended the war with more Jews than it started with because people refused to hand them over. That suggests the issue is more complicated than simply Christian values vs secularism.
