Which is why I said he needed to establish himself first. He was saying all the right things for months until he found himself backed into a corner and forced to admit immigration benefits him.

But you can only be manipulated if you don’t know these things? Give people credit for having a bit of nuance.

I think it’s super important to listen to those at the heart of the issue. Samantha Smith was abused from the age of 5 by the gangs, I believe she was 11 when first grape. I don’t think what she’s asking for is unreasonable.

Absolutely this. I’m having flashbacks to 2014, the arguments are exactly the same. And given that the trauma I experienced on Operation Sanctuary was one of the reasons I left that is not an entirely light hearted statement.

10 years have passed and literally nothing has been learned. I get it, in any debate there will always be a percentage of Ultra Left zealots who will consider any discussion of crimes, no matter how heinous, committed by minorities de facto racist and will attempt to shut it down. Same with immigration. But I had hoped against hope that the years would have introduced more sophistication into that viewpoint. I will no doubt be hearing next that the Albanian Mafia, Jamaican Yardies, and Vietnamese cannabis growers are majority white English. You can’t reason with that. I don’t know whether to laugh or cry.
