I work a lot with t2d and have a passion for reversing it, I helped a patient reduce their hba1c from 69 to 49 in about 6 months (just to give one example).
These are 2 great websites to check out https://lowcarbfreshwell.com/ they have a 4 week meal planner and I use them in my everyday cooking at home myself! I think they have an app too?
https://www.dietdoctor.com/ Great for recipes. Don’t bother signing up for the premium version there’s no need to. I also don’t believe that keto is necessary for good results, low carb is fine just as it is!
Usually metformin is the intro medication - you could either ask to trial lifestyle changes for 3 months first and retest after 3 months before considering meds to see if you can manage it through diet? However metformin is protective against cardiovascular disease and can also help manage your appetite too so there’s a few things to consider!
This is literally my bread and butter (excuse the pun) so happy to help (in a non professional opinion!!)
