So my mum passed away at new year, a coupe of weeks ago I had a particularly bad day and was weighing up my options, I couldn’t sleep at all that night so just stayed lying in bed. I was facing my door this night and I usually sleep on my other side facing the wall. Anyway about 5am I heard someone walking softly. My door opened and there was my mum, I couldn’t speak or make any kind of sound but I had a million questions going through my mind and all she said was I love you and I miss you and then my door closed again. I woke my husband up and told him and I was explaining how mum looked, she had a nightie on that I remember from my childhood so she hasn’t owned it for 15years plus, she looked like mum just a normal person although a little pale. But she had no legs😂. I know people will think it was a dream but honest to god I was awake. She’s never been back since no matter how much I’ve asked x
My mum died when I was 14 (freak accident where my whole family was injured, but she passed away). I was laying in bed because I had multiple fractures in hip region. I was begging to my mum to take me with her. And that very night she came in my dream just to sleep beside me on my bed, looking at me in very loving way. This happened 21 years ago. I used to get my dreams with my mum in it.
Fast forward, I had kids and around 2020 lockdown period I was going through every mental breakdown. I used to 'talk' to my mum that how she left me with all this responsibility, and she should "come back" to take care of me (😅😆honestly I feel stupid now but I was in my lowest low). One night I dreamt of her sleeping on bed, with back turned away from me, my kids were throwing tantrums because they wanted something. But my mum didn't budge, she kept sleeping throughout the dream, conveying the message that she will not always be there and I should take responsibility on my own. I haven't seen her in my dreams since that day. This feels so spooky, I feel she has finally left me and moved on in afterlife.

I remember being told that after they have died they can be around people for a while and then they can't in the same way. I've had quite a few people report sightings not long after the person died.

Oh wow. I talk to my mum quite a bit too I feel like I need to. I hate the thought of her finally moving over and not coming back x

Oh wow I didn’t know that, that’s kind of sad.x
I think it must be to do with "moving on". They haven't properly gone to "the other side" so both they and you can't move on.
I remember a lot of white feathers at one point which I thought was strange. I googled it and it said it was a message that they had arrived on "the other side".
The relative who died had been very interested in Caron Keating's death (Gloria Hunniford's daughter), so I assumed it was connected with that - the feathers.

Really? Does it work? X
I've never asked her, but she's really into Reiki. I think she's a Reiki Master and taught me part 1 of it and the person I was working on said they could really feel something and my hands were buzzing. 😁
The medium she visits is lovely but hard to get in to see. I remember her saying the medium spoke about her daughter being stopped by the Police in her car, and that the person I knows mother was in the car with her.
Turned out her daughter had been stopped by the Police. It shows that her mother was watching over her granddaughter.

This sounds like a visitation. Lots about them online.
I have dreams about my mum but once had an experience like you described. It was at a very stressful time. I know she was there 🤍🤍

I've watched/listened to a few of this psychics videos that someone told me about. She's been through a lot in her life so is not well enough to see clients any more. She seems to do channeling messages for the world from the other side (archangels) now. She used to be a detective in the Police force.
I've got some answers to my questions after listening to a few of her videos.

I can't say how absolutely true this is as I don't remember it but apparently not long after my mum's ex boyfriend died suddenly when I was a toddler, I was going on my merry toddler way when I just stopped everything, pointed ahead of me and said "man" when there was nobody there.

My mum is never prone to flights of fancy so I think this must have happened, but nothing else similar ever did.

They say babies/kids can be more "tuned into" to the spooky stuff so I do wonder about it.

It’s brings me some peace and comfort that she came but no matter how many times she could or would come it would never be enough I’d always want one more 🩷🩷🩷

I never ever dream about my mum (apart from twice), I'm 34 now and she died when I was 3.
The first time was when I was getting a tattoo the next day of her name and she seemed annoyed, my dad said she wouldn't have liked it 🤣

The second time was just randomly about a year ago now and in the dream I was swimming in a swimming pool and she was by the side, I shouted out to her and she didn't say a word but just smiled and walked away even though I was shouting on her. I've often wondered what the meaning of that dream was.

I've asked her loads of times to please visit me in my dreams but she never does.

I posted up thread that my daughter (2 at the time) was talking to a lady in my room who was making her laugh, still wonder if it was her!

I only just stumbled across this thread.
Love reading all your posts.

I long to see my Dad or dream of him. I’m always asking for a sign that he’s here and that everything will be ok.

When he first passed I used to see Robins a lot, at very appropriate times and places. Also white feathers.

And I had a couple of vivid dreams where he was there but never spoke, and I longed to hear his voice.

It’s been 3 years now. I still miss him so much and often talk to him and ask him for signs but I don’t get that same sense that I’m seeing messages anymore.

I hope it’s because he’s in a better place and is watching over us there.

I know some people don’t believe in stuff like this, but for me I feel like there must be some truth in it otherwise what’s the point?

So it’s comforting reading the experiences of others.

One of my cats died in 2021 and every now and then I see him appear, it's just a floating head but my other cat always sees him as well, he stares intensely in to a fixed spot and then I see him

No other cat I owned has done that but I think it's because he went into vets for urgent exploratory op and the vet said he was in heart failure, it was still covid times and we wasn't allowed in with him when he was pts, no idea if it's related 🤷‍♀️

Well, at least you know he's arrived safely on the other side - the white feathers message. I did hear that they find it hard to communicate with heavy energy. Think it was the woman I posted upthread. They also have to continue developing themselves so I expect they can't be around us all the time.
I know he'll be watching over you. I remember being told that one of my guides (grandfather) was combusting with rage trying to communicate with me about something so I was obviously doing the wrong thing. 😁
When I saw a psychic I did get an apology out of a relative who'd died, she also divulged that she could have as much chocolate as she wanted now. She was a chocoholic in life. This confused me as I didn't think you could eat "upstairs." The psychic informed me that they don't eat but get the sensation of it. So from this I worked out that she was saying she could have chocolate now without putting on weight or getting health problems.
So I received "proof" and had a bit of a chuckle.
They do say that the world is going to become more spiritual. Maybe people will stop being so frightened to talk about it then.

Re "signs" that people on here have mentioned I copied this from the media:

"It's not easy to be different when you’re young. ‘Who is this Scottish guy who thinks he can speak to angels? He’s delusional.’ It got to the point where, when I was around 20, I gave up on my psychic work and got a job as an events director in a hotel. But angels were never far away.

One night, as I started reading a book, a little feather fell out of it. Instantly a light came into the room and I experienced an overwhelming feeling of being loved. The next morning when I woke up, there beside my bed was my guardian angel: a gigantic black presence, wearing armour.

That was the day I committed myself to helping people connect with angels.

The significance of that feather? Finding one is like being given an angelic business card or love note. When you see one in an unusual place, you’ve been visited by an angel.

Once I did a reading for a politician who wasn’t sure he believed in angels. I told him to ask them for a sign. A day or two later, as he was giving a speech, he reached into his pocket to grab something. Out came a white feather.

All angel signs carry one central message, which is: ‘You’re on the right path. Your intuition is tuned in. Keep going in the direction you’re already
headed.’

If you’re experiencing a tough time, the sign means you’ll get through it. There’s no such thing as a bad omen from the angels – they bring only positive messages. Angel signs are also an opportunity to pause and ask them to reveal what you need to know. If nothing seems immediately clear, however, the solution is to be patient and let the meaning unfold.

Remember, angels are always there to help us, so thank them for being willing to help you find more meaning in the sign. Then listen for the answer.

How will you know when, say, an out-of-place feather is a divine message and not simply the result of a scrap between birds? Simple: you’ll feel a sudden sense of calm, and that’s because you’re connecting to angels. Sometimes a butterfly is just a butterfly and sometimes it’s a divine message. But if your first instinct is, ‘This is a sign,’ then it is a sign.

When you see something you think is a sign and you feel connected, you are. Trust your intuition. Don’t squander the moment. It’s your cue to slow down and listen.

How to know you've had a visit from an ANGEL. Feathers, ladybirds, robins and even coins contain poignant heaven-sent messages: This is what to look for, by author who's a world expert

Kyle Gray is an ‘angel communicator’ who has seen, heard and spoken to divine spirits throughout his life. Kyle points to the signs that you, too, have had a visit from angels.

Mr Gray says when you find a feather in an unusual place, you’ve been visited by an angel

Here are some simple ways to express it:

‘Thank you, angels, for revealing this sign to me.’
‘Thank you, angels, for helping me stay open to your guidance.’
‘Thank you, angels, for reminding me that you’re there.’

Getting a sign is an opportunity to pause and ask the angels to reveal what you need to know. Angels are always there to help us, so thank them for being willing to help you find more meaning in the sign. Then listen for the answer.

Angels are messengers. It’s in their nature to get in touch. They’re like your chatty girlfriend who just won’t shut up, or an over‑eager puppy who greets you like he hasn’t seen you in a month when all you did
was go to the supermarket.

Angels want to keep telling you they are around you, to assure you you’re not alone.

So what should you do when you get a sign? And how can you make encounters with angels more likely?

Let me tell you the most important thing you can do.

If you want to experience angels, you have to be more like them. Like attracts like, and it’s never truer than when we’re talking about these peaceful, timeless beings. Angels are divine energy. Before we even start talking to them we need to put ourselves in a position to align with their energy.

I often talk about how we need to raise our ‘vibration’. This may sound like hard work, but I promise you it’s really the opposite. It’s cleansing, healing and will lighten your life in multiple ways.

It means letting go of negative energy that’s not serving you. It’s about cutting out draining thoughts and draining situations. It’s about being peaceful, joyful, thankful.

Once you concentrate on raising your vibration, whether through meditation or by going outside to listen to the birds, it won’t feel like work at all. And raising your vibration will bring you closer to the essence of angels – their unconditional love, their limitless capacity to forgive, their steadfast support.

If you would like a sign, here is a little ritual you can try.

Visualise yourself surrounded by golden light. See it moving right over you. This makes your connection to angels even stronger. It’s like broadband for your prayers. The basis of this is that we are light in the same way that angels are light. It is through light that we can bring them closer to us and bring ourselves closer to them.

If you find it challenging to visualise, you can say this affirmation instead: ‘I am immersed in golden light. It has washed over my body from head to toe.’

Now say, with loving intentions: ‘Thank you, angels, for reminding me of your presence!’

You can add some gratitude to really enhance the angelic connection. I often say: ‘It feels so good to know you’re here. I’m so thankful we’re on this journey together!’

But remember they’re angels, not virtual assistants or genies you can summon from a magic lamp. Yes, they can bring you things you want and grant wishes, particularly in the early days of your spiritual journey. But if your wishes become overly materialistic, the angels will stop granting them.

Why? Because simply wishing for a brand-new car or asking the traffic lights to turn green is not going to help your spiritual growth.

It’s OK to want things – but angels are here to give you all you need, rather than all you want. Communicating with angels will give you more control over your life, more choices, more clarity, more love.

The purest part of your soul has already connected with them, whether you’ve recognised the experience or not. Indeed, we connect with angels before we come into this world. That’s why a sense of familiarity often washes over us when we experience angels. It’s like coming home.

Angels will try to reach us on the inside, sending a message through our hearts and minds. But if we’re not listening, they try other ways of getting our attention. So they’ll leave a feather or a coin, or send a magpie or a ladybird.

The signs will get more and more obvious. Eventually they’ll use a megaphone or its equivalent – like a car cutting in front of us with the message we need on its bumper sticker, or the hotel receptionist whose name tag says Angel.

Over the 20 years I’ve been helping people communicate with angels, I’ve kept a list of the signs of a divine visitation. Remember to trust your intuition: a genuine angel sign will always be accompanied by an inner sense of calm.

We’ll start with the best-known sign – a feather that appears in an unexpected place.

Black feather: Angels are absorbing your pain or other challenging emotions. Take time to ask for the extra support you need.

Blue feather: This means that angels are encouraging you to open up and be honest.

Green feather: Angels are acknowledging your capacity to give, share and love without conditions.

Indigo/purple feather: Your current experiences are providing a spiritual awakening.

Orange feather: Angels are surrounding you with harmony and light. Self-care is essential.

Pink feather: You’re surrounded by unconditional love.

Red feather: Your angels are supporting you on a physical level to help you find everything you need to feel safe and supported.

White feather: This means your guardian angel wants you to know that it’s close by and is asking you to remain positive.

Yellow feather: Angels are encouraging you to focus on what’s supportive and good for you.

Robins: These are a lovely sign – they bring a message from a departed loved one. The message is: ‘I am here with you now.’ As robins are territorial little birds, there’s a high chance they’ll visit often and be a regular messenger from the spirit world.

Magpies: These birds tell us that a loved one is sending their love and watching over us. If we see a cluster of magpies, each one represents a loved one in heaven looking down on us

Birds of prey: Eagles, hawks and other birds of prey bring a message from the angels to see things from a higher perspective; to see the bigger picture, including another person’s point of view. You need to look beyond your own personal ideas of what you want, as the universe is always leading you to your highest, greatest good.

Ladybirds: These are symbols of happiness and peace. When they appear, angels wants us to know they are present and are smoothing our path.

Rainbows: A sign that our prayers have been heard. They encourage us to have faith.

Angel symbols: These could be statues or even a piece of angel-shaped confetti on your shoe. They tell us that angels are listening and helping us.

Broken angels: I have received hundreds of emails from people who have broken an angel statue and are worried about the spiritual significance of this. But this is not a bad sign (as I said earlier, there’s no such thing). When you break an angel wing or statue, angels are drawing pain from you so you don’t have to carry it any longer or are protecting you from a negative experience.

Butterflies: A symbol of great change in your life. Can also be a reassuring message from a loved one who died after going through much pain.

Coins: These represent loved ones in heaven, particularly grandparents. It’s as though they’re coming through and offering us a shiny penny to give us a push in the right direction and wish us luck.

Dolphins: Symbols of family, freedom and deep bonds of friendship and trust. When we see them, angels are encouraging us to enjoy our friends and family.

Stars: Seeing star shapes everywhere you go is a message from heaven. Angels want you to know they’re aware of your achievements and proud of you.

Hearing your name: When you hear your name when no one is there, it’s a call to action.
