Good for Mrs Warr getting off the gram but I found her goodbye video very odd. It felt very self-indulgent and contrived. But then again that's exactly what Instagram is. I think if I had a public platform and decided to leave I'd just delete it without making an announcement, or if I did announce, it would be a simple, I've decided to leave, rather than the short film of multiple scenes produced by Mrs Warr.

It's got to be a hard balance to maintain - you start out posting a few pics of you in curlers with homemade cakes against a chintz backdrop, just for fun and to enhance the pretend play that you live in a 1940s toy town, minus the unpleasantness of war, the misery of rationing etc. Then suddenly you've got 50k followers, lots sending critical/helpful messages ('the design on your pinny wasn't created until 1954', 'do you have tv, you're hurting your kids' etc).

At that point a decision has to be made about direction, and the endorsements you'd need to make it profitable would mean compromising on actually being vintage. I can understand them thinking sod this, and shutting the account.

Alena seemed keen to be an influencer, so was more about trying to find a profitable audience so I can see why she wouldn't fit with the group, particularly if she was hoping to gain followers from the others by being mentioned on their accounts.

A fair point but I think it was Alena who "hit it big" first; I think it would have been the others who stood to gain from association with Alena, in the beginning anyway. I think Mrs Warr had been around a while but teapots and Katrina didn't appear on the scene till Alena had already been in the public eye for several years.

Why has Alena started to use AI images or low quality photos on her blog now. Some are really quite pixelated that it looks very amateur. Also she’s now referring to The Darling Academy as a ‘ministry’.

Alena has rediscovered her faith.

I see her now marketing towards the fundamentalist Christian housewife. No need to dress up in 40s clothing. Just preach the good word.

She been slowly becoming more and more Christian which I don’t have an issue with but calling her blog and ‘community’ a ministry gives me a bit of a side eye. I’m really surprised they didn’t go to America because that brand is really popular there.

I hope these AI images don’t stay long, they make her blog (which was quite tasteful) look like a bot has taken over.

Well, the Academy was shown how to make Cottage Pie today along with the jar of Vegemite to make sure we all know she's in Oz.

I did say a while ago that she'll be going down the Faith route !!!!

How the hec she has the audacity to post about Meghan Markle, when she claims to be a Royalist. That witch and her husband threw the Royal Family under a very large bus 😠

I think you can be a royalist, dislike Meghan and still think the treatment of her by the press (and people on the Internet who call her "that witch") is pretty disgusting... Was the first blog post I've read of Alena's in yonks and I expected the worst (I don't get the impression she's a Meghan fan) but it was actually really refreshing. Nothing controversial about calling out nastiness and asking for people to be a bit kinder in my personal opinion (as someone who also doesn't like Meghan but hates the poison spewed online about her even more.)

Does anyone else think Kayleigh from forever growing nest that her ex isn't as bad as she tries to make out? He often takes the older two and he doesn't have too they're not his kids he's stayed over when she got bad with panic attacks and has driven her to stores for groceries that are too far to walk.

Absolutely. The woman is manipulative as they come for her own gains.

That’s interesting, I wonder why
Apparently she just needed a brief hiatus to reflect and rest, I wonder if she has had a falling out with Lydia and Katrina and has come back after we thought they encouraged her to leave instagram..i have no actual idea though, just hypothesising on that part

I'm not surprised tbh. She's always going on about having little money and food though so how will that go adding a 6th in there, I wonder. Wonder if she'll finish her course too..

I wonder will he be moving in or move close because she mentioned it being hard being long distance. I'm assuming he's going to want to be close to his kid.
