Sorry if this has been asked but where has Teapots and Tablecloths gone? I quite enjoyed her content as my life is so opposite to style of life she leads.

She seemed to fall out with multiple women from the vintage scene in quick succession, and Alena posted a blog post that alluded to having been treated poorly by her. Mean girl vibes for sure. She deleted everything after that. She crops up in other people's photos from time to time and does appear to be friends with Katrina and Sian still.

Oh and both Sian and Lydia's accents are fake as anything Having spent a lot of time around people who really do speak "The Queen's English" it's very obvious when it's being put on, and both have slipped into their real voices on numerous occasions.

I read this article, I thought it was quite good. I think she could be classed as the OG in the UK? To be fair I hadn’t heard of trad wives before I found her.
The more I think about it the more I find Lydia and Sian etc a bit odd because it doesn’t feel authentic? They just seem to be dressing up for social media, especially after Alena alluded that they didn’t want X, Y and Z photographed because it wasn’t on brand or whatever the sentence was. Does anyone know Lydia’s middle name, I read somewhere she’s posting again but under her first and middle names?
How’s Alena’s fb group? I left a while ago, I’m wondering what it’s like now she’s gone off to Oz.

Alena is fickle, she always was an author..she played at being a Trad Wife to monopolise off the back of it. I.e writing her books on the subject, she defo wants to be at home not doing very much and having hubby the main provider and look after her. She can't hold female friendships, she didn't like the office 'bitchyness' I think she called it...sometimes it isn't everyone else at fault is is you. Lydia, Sian, and the other lady seem to be authenticly into the Vintage lifestyle to me. not so much the Trad Wife..Once Alena met the 3 ladies she went full on vintage copying , dropped that to have the Kate Middleton, Country-Set look..she comes across as very flaky and picks and chooses what she does at home - well did when she was on IG.. so what if the others didn't want part of their homes shown ! Lydia was ripping a house out to modernise and redecorate. Maybe these areas were in a bad way or childrens areas, Lydia was very protective online re the children. Sian lives in a lovely big old house..maybe inside are areas she wants to keep private, away from her followers. Not every aspect has to be shown.

It was her own doing when she came off IG..must have got back lash, she had started to really show off buying very expensive items and promote rubbish from crap High St stores like Home Bargains..was not really aligning to her own values.

Can you be an author if you’re self published? Someone I know read one of her books and said it was obvious she didn’t have an editor because it was full of filler and had grammatical errors. I think she’s going another guide book and a fictional story which will be interesting to see what she comes up with.
The life Alena had before sounded very full on and whilst I understand she always wanted a family the switch to being a housewife and mother solely…I don’t think that would have satisfied her in the long term. And it hasn’t, hence her now describing herself as an author. It’s a shame she didn’t have more children because I sense she would have loved a big family.

I did notice that a lot of them seemed to be going shopping everyday and going to charity shops and buying the most random things. Just seems again like filler for being unfulfilled. I’m really surprised they didn’t seem to do much to their old house. Some parts of it looked like it hadn’t been updated since the early 00s. I wonder how much it sold for in the end .

Sian really only shows her large kitchen/dining area, her bedroom, sewing room (very occasionally) and the garden. It's a large house but that's about all she shows.

I can't see her doing that, it will be written more as woe is me, poor old me i have been scorned by mean friends and what to do if this situation happens to you, dear reader.

My apologies I think I must have got it confused. Here she talks about her books in the latest ‘article’ on her website.
‘I also know that a new book written by my own hand is on the horizon - I’ve been feeling the same inner nudging that I had before I wrote Ladies Like Us (which just had her 8th ‘birthday’ by the way). Thank you to everyone who has read it, and left such kind feedback over the years!
Ironically, this next book isn’t the one whose word count currently sits at 86,000 - the timing doesn’t feel right for that one, so it’s back to the notepad and pen, and little coffee dates to myself when I can steal away, to let what’s inside my head and heart flow onto the paper. Reading and writing will always be my passion, and I’m so lucky I get to do both of those things from home.
The delay in a third book is down to the fact that my brain is not one that can split into many places at once. I am an INFJ, and a Highly Sensitive Person. I also wonder if I have slight ADHD tendencies which I (like many women) have masked for years…’

Yes that seemed a bit out of the blue. But she had been taking long stretches off then coming back and trying for instagram routine again. Of course part of me wonders if something specific happened for her to make this decision. Or was it just time to step away. Anyway, another trad wife account bites the dust. She was fairly enjoyable to watch, overall.

It could be as simple as her heart not being in it anymore. I think it’s good she’s stepping away when she finds it doesn’t serve a positive purpose anymore instead of hanging on like some people do and you can tell they are just going through the emotions.
And I can see how being on social media like this can go against the adoration of living like they did in the past

I do wonder what it would be like to be their friends - Alena made it sound difficult if you didn’t confirm to their ways but surely living in the 21st Century they have friends who don’t live like a 50s housewife?

She was away with “friends” this weekend aka Lydia and co I’m guessing. On her grid, the reel she’s posted today is thumbnailed with the three of them together. My guess is they’ve convinced her to come off like they did, saying how happy and fulfilled they are and tut tutting her for still being on the dark side. All very sudden and there’s definitely a subtle undertone to it all…
