A family friend battled breast cancer about 5 years ago - a 40 year old woman, mother of 2 teens - and because of needing to provide health insurance for her family she worked throughout her chemo. I can not imagine the strength it took knowing her health was hanging in the balance and needing to work to help provide for her family. Obviously her co-workers had encouraged her to see if she qualified for any temporary assistance / health insurance / extra PTO beyond what she already had / anything. She didn't qualify in any way. Fortunately, she beat cancer and is thriving.
Now, the point of this story is because that woman never once in her life took any financial assistance from anyone. She slaved away in a physically demanding job, 40-60 hours a week since the age of 18, and yet, the government decided that there was no loophole for her, even temporarily. Her only option was to buy COBRA health insurance, which would've cost $3000 per MONTH for her family. So, instead, she continued to work through the rounds of chemo.
Tracy has barely worked a day in her life. From what we know, she spent her 20s *maybe* doing hair / makeup, and from what Tattlers discovered in the past, she would be paid only in Cash or PayPal Family/Friends option as to avoid getting a 1099 to file taxes. She wears blackface. Hers and her family's politics do not align with supporting the funding of entitlement programs. She's a bigot who's said xenophobic / racist things about immigrants. On the podcast she made borderline homophobic statements that Jess had to correct her / cut her off, during the early seasons. She supported locking up kids in cages. She's one of the most ignorant, poorly-educated and ill-informed people I've ever had the displeasure of knowing - even if only on social media. And yet, instead of getting a real job, instead of acknowledging whatever help she's received, she continues to act as if she's done it all on her own. Whether it's not crediting her parents, Tara, Corey, or even the government programs, she portrays an image of the 'mom who can do it all.' Instead, though, she has a village helping her.
Money to get her nails done? She has it. Hair? No problem. Breasts? Done. Clubbing / drinks? Yep! Eating out with friends? Also done. Throwing parties for friends and baby showers for temporary men's daughters? GOT IT! Yet, there she comes with her hand extended to the government welfare office...making it harder for other people who need it more, who have no village behind them. She's become the person her parents voted against, judged, despised. She's the person people think everyone who needs help is like. That they're all able-bodied, entitled, lazy, and trampy.
