This is an example of it. She looks great, but it's more glamour modelling. For very, cheap clothing too often bought by teens more than anyone, being modelled by a lady who very likely has had plastic surgery. Very concerning.

Loved topshop when I was younger, still have some leigh jeans now. Will be sad not to see it on the high street anymore

I like Topshop but Philip Green ran it into the ground. If he wasn't such a selfish twit he could've saved it.

Definition of Sir Philip Green: selifsh twit.

He didn't invest because he didn't believe in online buying which was part of the downfall. As was the quality of the clothes became poorer but more expensive for consumers to purchase. Oh and he constantly paid him and his wife nice pay checks.

Me neither, Boohoo, Oh Polly, Pretty little thing all look identical. Looks like the kind of stuff they have in low rent shopping centre clothes shops like Salford Precinct or on market stalls.

Is there anything still open in Salford Precinct?!

I'd only go there for jeans, jackets and coats. There baxter jeans were the best but then they discontinued them Haven't found any jeans that were better to this day and have tried lots.

I will be so so so so sad not to see Topshop on the high street. Yes it got a little expensive but it was my go to. I personally could find any outfit I wanted from there. Their petite range is incredible. Their Jamie Jean's are the most flattering and confused jeans I own. I found the quality to be good. Service was excellent. I would do a personal shopping experience once a year and can honestly say it was incredible. I've been shopping there since I was 17 and I'm 33 now and I still found gorgeous items. Their shoe range is just so good, I can't see how it's not stood the test of time but that's just me. Back in their hey day when they had Kate Moss collection in etc it used to sell out in minutes. I still have a leather Topshop boutique jacket and it's just stunning. It must be 15 years old and it is still fashionable I'm just gutted it's gone but at least I can still buy Jamie jeans from Asos. I think I'm the only person in the world not to like primark or new look etc. I just never find anything nice for me in those shops but when I see friends wearing outfits they look fab.

It is sad although I only really ever bought my jeans from there (love their jeans!), a few jumpers occasionally but a lot of the other stuff just wasn’t for me and seemed to be weird fitting or not my style. I feel like they needed to change it up a bit more or maybe be a tiny bit cheaper. Websites like ASOS, pretty little thing, misguided are taking away a lot of trade from the high street! Especially when a lot of their stuff is so cheap or they run such good deals, it appeals more to younger people as well. It’s so easy to shop on ASOS and have it delivered next day!

Yeah. Pretty Little Thing and Misguided are so cheaper and probably so appeal to the younger crowd a lot more. I just find PLT thing and misguided such bad quality though. I know Topshop wasn't the best but it was still better quality than those sites

I’ve found the fit of topshops clothes awful over the past few years. I used to buy all my jeans in there and the last few times I’ve went in I can’t get them past my thighs and I’m usually a 8/10 on jeans tried some of the bigger sizes on an they fit fine round the legs and where massive round the waist. The last thing I bought from topshop was a denim jacket last summer and loved their jewellery range but haven’t bought many proper clothing items from it in a good while. Can go into the likes of river island though and get into a size 8/10 pair of jeans that fit perfectly

Same. I hate how they're becoming one of the only options as well. As more stores close down, online is taking over. Only thing is I've found that compared to a few years ago when I would use boohoo, PLT, missguided, etc that the quality has decreased to absolutely unwearable or looks nothing like the picture.

It's frustrating that we're losing more and more shops. I loved TopShop and Dorothy Perkins.
Our high streets are going to be dead. In Sheffield there's already so many empty shops.

I got a job in Topshop within a Debenhams back in 2002 and even to this day I couldn't rate this company high enough for how they treated me and the training they offered - I went from sales assistant to top level supervisor within 3 months and they entire training aspect of it was really enjoyable for me. It may have been because I worked in a smaller store though and I got to travel to various places and meet lots of people which I loved!

I also helped with the setting up of the Birmingham Flagship store in the Bullring and again I had a brilliant time.. When it first opened I was absolutely buzzing as it was huge! And i'd been part of it (I didn't work customer facing... I did the merchandising and set up before launch for this store)

I then moved to the Leicester store when it was on Gallowtree Gate and it all went a bit downhill then.. Not sure why but I found staff to be very cliquey and not very freidnly to both each other and customers whereas I've always prided myself of being friendly and approachable and passionate about what I was doing but it just killed my vibe so I ended up leaving

I never really bought any clothes except with my uniform allowance (and when I first joined the Debenhama concession I had the price gun out gutting the stock room as it was a mess and I got soooo much for very little! A coat cost like £2 as it had been up in the stockroom so long )


I'm not sure why or how but I've still got my training book and name tag and some photos of the Topshop I first worked in... Glad I did as the Debenhams I first worked in closed ages ago.. Long before Debenhams announced they were closing... And I've still got most of the clothes I bought as uniform the shoes didn't last though lol

I hadn’t shopped in Topshop for a long time but I think the closure of so many high street shops is really sad. I’m struggling to think what will be left! I’m in my 30s now but when I was 20 ish Topshop was the go to place. Someone mentioned denim jeggings and that took me back! I had about 3 pairs from Topshop and wore them so much. They also did these cotton dresses with a shirred waist and I had a few of them in different colours which id wear over said jeggings or with tights and ballet pumps. The clothes were genuinely so nice back then.
I struggle now with where to shop. I get some stuff from ASOS but boohoo, plt and misguided are no gos for me because it all looks very cheap and not that flattering. Zara is ok but the website is a nightmare. I literally have to see the clothes on a normal person, styled in a normal outfit or know what I want to search for. Other than that, it seems to be places like &other stories but the prices feel quite high for trend pieces. I also hate many of the trends at the moment, beige, tracksuits, all this boss babe business, strange cut outs in clothes etc.

I find as a 30 ish year old that I am too old for PLT, Missguided, In The Style, so now I tend to get everything from Asos (as they stock so many different brands) and H & M. I used to find topshop and other arcadia brands a bit hit or miss and always dearer than their competitors for the same quality.
